Anniversary Celebration
Day 29 Giveaway # 3
Are you wondering if I'm on the payroll over at Attached Inc.? Really I'm not (the truth) but I do want everyone who wants a chance to win some to get their name in the drawing. Remember I was telling you about making note cards using Mistyfuse? (Honestly Barb, I did say it....it is just your memory again!! :) How about using Mistyfuse to make your own paper fabric?
You can layer your collage items between two layers of Mistyfuse and make paper fabric. What can you make with paper fabric you ask?
You can make Artist Trading Cards
Make really fun file folders for all those patterns you have printed from on-line tutorials (I do that too!!)
How about making gift bags for special gifts or kids birthday parties.
You could have the most interesting wallet and hand bag going if you put together some really fun things for your paper fabric.
Bradie Sparrow from A Quilty Kind of Girl Designs uses Mistyfuse to bast her quilts. Oh why did I not think of that first? So smart!!! Birdie you got it goin' on girl!!! Who hates to baste their quilts? Me too.....now we can use Mistyfuse between the batting and fabric and press it.....and it's basted!!! Holey Smokes that is an excellent idea. Mistyfuse is light so you'll never even feel it. Go over and check out Bradie Sparrow's tutorial on basting with Mistyfuse, you will be glad you did.
Thank you again, and again, and again.....and 100 yards worth of AGAIN Attached Inc. for celebrating with IHAN....You rock Iris :)
Edit begins here: Good grief....I really am falling off my rocker, for real this time!!! I forgot to put my seatbelt on...when will I learn. I have trained everyone so well you've already been leaving comments and I didn't even remember to tell you to leave a comment.....oh thank you :) Big Hugs around.
Iris, owner of Attached Inc., has sent 3 large packages of white Mistyfuse (20x 10 yards) one package per week and then a 12 x 100 yard roll for the Grand Prize Drawing just for the IHAN blog readers. Tremendously generous is all I can say. I have been very good and have not opened one package or even played with it....and that has been very difficult I must say.
So if you would like to win a 20 x 10 yard package of White Mistyfuse....jut leave a comment below....say anything you want....the sky is the limit...tell us a joke, share a fun story.....tell us a story about a famous person you have met....anything at all. The only stipulation is you MUST have "Mistyfuse Rocks Big Socks" somewhere in your comment. (Gene you have to come back and re-post so I can see what you say...lol...everyone else who has posted a comment before the edit is exempt from this little fun game....unless you just want to play and have fun too.)
Tired Smiles,
Kelly

Wow, I'm really loving all the ideas you're giving us! This sounds like great stuff. I have a wall hanging I did out of squares of counted cross stitch and I just may have to pick it apart and fuse this to the back of the squardes. The Aida fabric stretched so much it was a bugger to put together and square up!
ReplyDeleteI have not heard of mistyfuse before...but would love to try it. Please enter me in the giveaway...thanks
ReplyDeleteThis is great stuff! I used it last year to repair some flags that the color guard twirl when marching with the high school band. Some of the tears became virtually invisible when I used Misty Fuse and tulle before reinforcing with straight and/or zigzag stitching. Sarah
ReplyDeleteI have used Misty Fuse and love the light hand it has in my fusible work. I have even used the black to create shading in some of my art quilts.
ReplyDeleteHmm...okay... a joke? Now remember, this is a JOKE. What's the difference between Santa Claus and Tiger Woods?
ReplyDeleteSanta stops after three "ho"s!

Once upon a time there was a cat that lived in Alabama. Now this kitty was black and he had the longest white socks on his paws. They stretched all the way up to his belly. So, naturally, his owner, Mis Tyfuse, named him Big Socks. Big Socks was not usually a very cuddly cat- he was more of a frisky fellow. He would run around the house tearing up the toilet paper and climb the curtains, ripping them with his claws. Mis Tyfuse wished that he was a bit more of a lap cat, but she still loved him. Well, one night during a hot summer, there was a giant thunderstorm. The wind blew branches onto power lines and the lightning hit trees and busted them up. The thunder rocked and rolled till it echoed. That night, Big Socks was so scared he crawled right into Mis Tyfuse’s lap, shivering in fear. She cuddled him up as she rocked gently in her chair and crooned to him a song that all cats love, “You are my Sunshine, My only Sunshine...". He was right as rain the next day, but he must have enjoyed himself there, because every night now, while she has a cup of tea, Mis Tyfuse Rocks Big Socks and sings to him.

ReplyDeleteFunny Story (true) When I was a little girl (loong time ago!) I wanted to do ballroom dancing, so my Mum took me to lessons. For my first medal (bronze) I had to dance the waltz and the quickstep with the instructor, in front of an examiner. I walked over to the examiner, curtsied and gave him my exam paper, then walked to the instructor and fell flat on my face!! I cried the whole way round in both dances! I passed my bronze medal (and numerous others) thanks to a kind examiner, who took pity on a small girl.
OK now don't laugh at my poetry attempt - probably breaks all the rules and really hokey but here goes.

ReplyDeleteThey were drop dead gorgeous!!! Come to find out that Marilyn Badger is a member of this guild. It was wonderful to see quilts that I had seen in magazines, right up close. And she is wonderful person. I was in awe.

Well, since it's about anything, I'll tell you how I found my toddler just a few minutes ago.. Wrapped up in my hot pink shirt, in the warm laundry pile with a b-cup eye mask.. Yes, he had my bra over his eyes.. I guess it blocked out the light because I can't fold the laundry as he's STILL in there asleep... Oh, and "Mistyfuse Rocks Big Socks" Oh yeah baby!

ReplyDelete"Mistyfuse Rocks Big Socks" Once I met Senator Bill Bradley (ex pro basketball player) -- while entering an elevator. He is so tall he had to bend a lot to get through the door and into the elevator. The Senator was so formal and statesmanlike -- yet there was humor in the situation. Well, I pressed the button for my floor -- and he went there too. He was the surprise guest speaker for our business meeting that morning. He had to bend down to get out of the elevator too.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I would like to win Mistyfuse so can try it for basting a quilt top/backing. Thanks for a wonderful giveaway.
