This is Pat Sloan, as if I even needed to tell you her name. By the way, if you do not know who Pat Sloan is, I'm sorry to say you just might need to get out a little more....just a wee bit :) Pat was autographing her book, "Quilt the Seasons" at the Checker Distributors Booth at Quilt Market. It is tough pulling myself away from the Checker Distributors Authors stand. I'm always there ready to hear their guests talk about the latest products and books. I'm actually thinking of wearing a disguise in Houston for Fall Quilt Market so they won't tire of me...LOL.
Quilt the Seasons is a wonderful book with so many great projects that your home is guaranteed to be festive for all seasons. The list of projects include quilts, table toppers, and wall hangings but we all know the patterns can be used for any project from Seasonal Clothing to Scrapbook page designs. (I love using the fun designs for page layouts when Scrapbooking....it gives new meaning to paper piecing!!)
All of The Cutting Edge rulers have a diamond carbide EDGE (650 grit...as if I know what that means:) that keeps your rotary blade sharp while you work.
Each person who attended the lecture received a.....well....a business card....as a promissory note to get a ruler to demo at their shops. Unfortunately by the time I got to their booth to turn in my promissory note all of the rulers were gone. I was able to use The Cutting Edge Rulers and Rotary Cutter at their booth. Definitely innovative in the age of conservation. Longer lasting rotary blades is definitely an excellent way to save more money in the long run.
Sullivans USA has all the information about their rulers right on their website. Click here for more information. One of the "frustrating" things about going to Market is almost everything that is shown is on it's way to market and not always available to order. I Have A Notion will carry the rulers just as soon as they become available....and I hear that will be soon!!!Although Pat is working her bootay' off while at Market she was kind enough to pose for a photo with me. I honestly have no idea how Pat Sloan manages to publish books & patterns, participate in Twitter, Facebook, Blogging, and maintain a website, host Creative Talk Radio....oh yeah....did I mention she also has this thread kit and this thread kit with Aurifil? I would need roller skates to keep up with her....and a full time staff with two nannies too!!
I'm sure you all know that I took good care of you....yes I got an Autographed copy of Quilt the Seasons Book 2 by Pat Sloan. Although it is killing me to give it away, I know it will go to a good home. Will it be your home? Will your Seasons be festive? We'll find out on the evening of Friday Aug. 6th. Just leave a comment telling me what adding some Seasonal fun projects to your home will mean to you. Non-replay bloggers need to leave their e-mail address to qualify.
Smiles,
Kelly
Since I am a relatively new quilter, I don't have any seasonal projects yet! This would be a great place to start! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been following Pat since I first started quilting. She was my inspiration...
ReplyDeleteI don't need the book. I already own it...
I would love to win Pat Sloans new book. I also don't know how she can do all she does, but I'm sure glad she does do it all.

ReplyDeleteI am terrible about decorating for the seasons because then I need to find a place to store it. ;) I really am working on it as when I do decorate for a holiday it makes it more magically even if it just another day.
ReplyDeleteI love to decorate for the fall and for Christmas so I would love to have this book to make some new projects. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI tend to giveaway stuff I make so this time I would keep it for my house!
ReplyDeleteAnymore, I tend to only decorate for Christmas - since my son is "grown" and I've somehow "lost" all of my other decorations. :) However, I'm really missing decorating for Spring and Fall, and could sure use some new ideas/inspiration for some new decorations. Pat's book sounds like it could really come in handy!!! Thank you for being willing to part with such a wonderful treasure!! :)

ReplyDeleteI love Pat Sloans designs and having her new book would be the ultimate delight for me. I love anything Christmas and feel the urge to make new Christmas goodies as its been a couple of years since I sewed some :) Thanks Kelly for another fab giveaway...Fingers crossed for me :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to win Pat's book.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any Sullivan rulers. Very interesting insights. I'll definitely try them soon.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Pat Sloan a riot? I'm not personally familiar with her books, but I do know she is very talented. I'd love to win.
Currently working on seasonal placemats for gifts. And several Christmas projects. Not sure how many quilters are thinking about this, but I'm already getting excited about spring (easter) projects! Does this count? LOL!

Love Pat Sloan's stuff and would love to have her book. If I make more stuff for the holidays my husband will ask, again, "who's that for." C'mon, I never asking who the movie is for when he brings it in from half price books!
ReplyDeleteI decided after Christmas last year to make seasonal hangings - so I have hangings starting in February but nothing for Christmas. Would love to have the inspiration of this fabulous book!
ReplyDeleteSeasonal project seem to brighten things up, no matter what season it is, or what season the project is for.
ReplyDeletePat does wonderful books with great photos and instructions. I can't believe the two of you didn't get into trouble together;)

Hi every year I promise myself I will make something for Christmas and then the rush starts and I get sidetracked. My favourite colours are Autumn (Fall) and so this would be a great book for me. Thanks for making this possible. Sam sdownes@oceanbroadband.net
ReplyDeleteI need a creative boost! This book looks like it would be just what i need to get my creative juices flowing again. I also need to make some thing to go above my new red couch. With the holidays fast approaching, I imagine there will be many "red" projects. Thanks Kelly for offering so many give aways. You are most generous!
ReplyDeleteI love putting out seasonal decorations - helps me really enjoy each season. Fall decor is my absolute favorite - I love the warm earth tones. Thanks for the opportunity to win this great book! dsb448@att.net
ReplyDeleteI am in need of Christmas Inspiration and projects. I have none for my home and would love some new ideas for gifts for family! Thanks for a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteMy house is so full of seasonal projects all year round. I don't know that you can be too festive, so more just means more smiles.
ReplyDeleteMy house needs more color--not just seasonally, but this would be a start. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI live in an area that has all four seasons and some made up seasons too, so this book would get lots of use!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be so much fun for the audience if you and Pat Sloan teamed up on the stage together? Wow, too cool. We would enjoy her book and making some items for upcoming holidays. Now that we keep the great grandkids, there is more impetus to dress the house up for the seasons. Please enter me into your drawing. Thanks Kelly.
