Final Chapter
The Electric Quilt Company - EQ 7
Presented by Gail Wadley
Gail was an excellent teacher. It was very clear from the beginning that she really knows this program and she shared some good information with the class. The next time I can go to an EQ class being given by any of the EQ Instructors, I'm going....honestly it was not only fun but exciting to learn more about Electric Quilt Software.
These are some of the topics she covered:
- Monthly Fabric Palettes are available on the Electric Quilt Website.
- Working with Images- Importing images, cropping images, resizing images, applying effects and colorizing.
- Adding Fabric scans
- Creating photo quilts.
There were many over suggested reading topics included in her handout as well.
I really enjoyed this class and was very grateful that Checker Distributors provided those in attendance with the opportunity to further our knowledge about EQ 7 Software.
This concludes the IHAN coverage of the Checker Distributor 62 Anniversary Open House. I know I have left out other companies that were present. I could not possibly cover everything and everyone. I specifically did not cover the Sizzix Quilting By Design Fabric Cutting System because I plan to do a product review in the very near future and I want to do that separately.
Thank you Checker Distributors for hosting this event and giving all of those who attended an opportunity to learn more about the great products available. The IHAN Bloggifers have been great!!! Thank you for reading these posts and leaving your comments. I will do the drawing for the Giveaways tomorrow and post the winners tomorrow evening.
Smiles,
Kelly
Oh..I wish I could have been a little bitty mouse in your pocket..to see/hear/learn all about it.
ReplyDeleteYour report covered well! Thanks for sharing with us....also
ReplyDeleteI've EQ7 to my wish list. ;-)
EQ. Definitely on my wish list. Thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteThat really looks like fun Kelly! I would love to try EQ some day. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about this product, but I've heard people refer to it and they seem to like it. But I sew to get away from the computer, so not sure what I think about it!

You do such a wonderful job on telling us about the events and new things. I was thinking I need to open up my program to figure out my design placement for my hexagons.

Thank you for all the great posts!! So many wonderful products!

I've been designing and coloring on grid paper tonight. Oh, how I wish I already had EQ7!! I don't think it can wait until I get a less cranky computer! Thanks for all the time and effort you put into these terrific write-ups and pictures, and sharing your insights!
ReplyDeleteI love my EQ7 and would love to do a workshop like that. I can get around the EQ7 but its always good to have someone who knows all about it tell you even more hints and tips. Great stuff and it would have been great being there. Thanks Kelly for all your fabulous posts. hugs Vicki
ReplyDeleteWhat a great time you had a Checker! All the giveaways sound great--I would be happy to win any one of them. Thanks for all the new info.
ReplyDeleteSo far I've done all my quilt designs on grid paper, then used Excel to do all the fabric calculations. Unfortunately I can't scan fabric into Excel. Another item to add to my wish list..although EQ could be dangerous for me, I spend too much time on the computer now, just think how bad I would be with that software.
ReplyDeleteDear Santa, I've been good. Well, relatively good. I'd like to have world peace, but if that's not possible, I'll "settle" for EQ7. Thanks and please fly safely. ~Karin
ReplyDeleteP.S. Please leave a little something special (not coal) in Kelly's stocking, 'cuz she's been extra special and extra good this year. Thanks again!
I have really enjoyed your checkers post....you make the EQ7 look less daunting.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the Checker open house posts. I've enjoyed them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great event that was! Now go sew!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your posts about Checkers Demos. EQ7 sounds like an excellent program to have. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed reading about the Checkers open house and the products. Thanks.
