Aurifil Blog Hop and The letter T

 

Hello Aurifil Blog Hoppers and welcome to the IHAN (I Have A Notion) blog.  Have you had fun this past week?  I know I have enjoyed visiting all of the blogs and collecting some great block patterns.

I was given the letter T for this blog hop.....an easy letter when speaking about Thread...don't you think?  Other T words that come to mind immediately:

Thread Tension
Tips, Terms and Techniques
Tools

Truthfully the reason I think I got the letter T is because I'm a Thief.  It's True and I have photos to prove it.

 Taking The Thread.....can you blame me? 
I only wish I had worn pants with an elastic waist.  I could have gotten that entire container in my waistline and covered it with my shirt. 
Instead, I had to go for the smaller box....shoved it down the back side...better know as the Tush.
I could not stop at a few spools....I Took the fork lift and Trotted off with the entire crate.  You know what?  I have no shame and no regrets.

Are you wondering what could possible cause an otherwise honest woman to become a Thief?  Try Aurifil for yourself and then tell me you don't want it ALL....yes a spool or several in every color and weight.  Just try to tell me if given access you would not attempt the same heist?   No lint, no breakage, beautiful colors, 12 wt, 28 wt, 40 wt, and 50 wt Thread.   Yep, I'm Thinking you would be Tempted to be a Thief Too!  By now you have read all the other Testimonials from the other Blogs in this Hop so you know of what I speak. 

The quilt blocks the other Bloggers designed are wonderful.  I'm a notions girl so designing blocks is not my Temptation.....instead I made this Joseph's Coat block pattern.  Tickled that I made the block Then I was Tormented when I realized I had been calling it "Jacob's Coat."

    I love love love Aurifil Thread it's great for machine and hand-piecing also for hand quilting, no lint or twists while using.Have only used the 50wt so far would love to try some of 12,28,40wts,I'm slowly replacing my old gutterman with Aurifil.

    thanks for an entertaining start to the morning. It is a very pretty block and I am sure Aurifil thread would improve my qpplique technique. I need to win - almost as much as I need a cup of coffee.

    The colours are like jewels, and they quilt like a dream, so yeah, I can see it's very tempting. I usualy purchase two of the same coulour, always afraid one won't be enough for my quilt. 500 yards is - most of the time- just enough. Bye from the Netherlands.

    I was hysterical reading your post and looking at the pictures (especially the one with the forklift!). None of the quilt shops locally carry Aurifil (whats up with that?), but I got my hands on two spools of 50 wt. at a quilt show last year, and I absolutely love it. Words cannot describe it. You must try it, because seeing is believe. Once you sew with Aurifil, you will never want to sew with any other thread again.
    Thanks for sharing your pattern. I saw Pat's layout this morning, and I can't wait to see the reveal.

    Hi Kelly my name is Sharon and it is very nice to meet you! The block is wonderful and I think it will look awesome in the whole quilt, thank you. I must say that until a few weeks ago I never tried auriful and could not get it locally here in chattanooga. So a friend of mine gave me a spool of her white and I have to say that I really enjoyed using it. Youa re right it left little if none in lint and it is strong and very smooth to work with and my machine loved it too. Thank the Lord for the internet cause that is where I will have to get it unless I take a road trip once a month to somewhere here in TN. I would love to try other colors in it and I am sure like everyone else could really use to win one. Thanks for the opportunity and I really had allot of fun visiting all of you.

    I've been using Aurifil thread, mostly 50-weight, since 1998 or so... back when it was less than $6 a spool! But it's worth its weight in gold for all things quilt-y. Thanks for the chance to win.

    I am more THAN TEMPTED TO TRY THIS TERRIFIC THREAD on my TREADLE sewing machines. Yes, I have THREE TREADLES, so, I have a TERRIFIC need of THREAD for my TREADLES. Have I TRIED using THE letter T enough yet? (By THE way, Aurifil THREAD is great for machine applique, TOO!) TRY it. Check out some TERRIFIC quilters on my blog.

    Thank you for making your pattern easy to find and download. I know everyone wants us to look at their site and enjoy, however, I would also enjoy finding the download. Just saying... I would like to try Aurifil very much. This online "hop" is a very good idea.

    You are so funny. I don't know if I have auifil thread, but need to try it. I use a different brand that i can get easily and on sale, but I do find it gets snagged in my machine sometimes.

    Aurifil brings out the best in our work and the worst in our manners(love it so much we revert to "stealing" it). Hee hee! It is good stuff and you can never have too much of it. I haven't made a Jacobs' Coat, so this will be fun to try for the first time, along with trying Aurifil with needle-turn applique, which I have yet to do.

    OMGosh...I am finally going to have to make an attempt at real hand-applique!!! lol I've always avoided it because the thread always showed and my stitches looked awful. I'm betting that with the Aurifil 50wt I won't have this problem, though, so thank you for the challenge. :-)

    I'm willing to be tempted by thread anytime, particularly Aurifil! There are worse things to be tortured by. I even searched out and bought the color card since reading about it on this Blog Hop. (I'm also now intrigued by that i-Top notion Kelly!) I LOVE the Joseph's Coat block! What a great choice.

    I'd like to try some and see if I get tempted too...esp the heavier weight stuff...I was quilting with the same thread I piece with...I'm anxious to see if my quilting looks improved with thicker thread...

    Well, Kelly, I was pulling with ya to get away with your slight of hand. Truly, tiz I was rootin' for ya ! :^)

    Truth is that I use Aurifil 50wt WHITE for bobbin. Poor little o' me has not one spool of Aurifil color. What a shame.

    Ooooohhhhh! I have always loved this block but it never dawned on me to applique it rather than piece it!!duh! Can't blame you for wanting the Aurafil thread so much you wanted to steal it- I totally get that after trying it for the first time last month!     Oh, this was so funny!! I would be a thief, too, except that I have been a volunteer at the local women's prison and I know I would not be able to take my Aurifil thread with me if I got caught with the forklift full of thread and had to go to jail. LOL! Seriously, this has been a fun blog hop, thanks to Pat Sloan, Aurifil and all of you that have shared your lovely blocks.     I love Aurifil thread, just wish one of my LQshops would carry it. I use 50 wt. for machine piecing and a heavier wt. for hand piecing. Thanks for the block pattern and the chance to win some thread.
