Have you entered your photo of your pets on a quilt yet? If not...click here to find out how you can participate....oh yeah....and win some very cool prizes too :)
Can you see my little pet here? Yes....just his nose on the tip of the quilt.
...this is Jake and his two Monkey brothers, Aaron and Zachary I knew the minute I asked them to come lay on the quilt it would be pandemonium....or as I call it panda-balognium!!!
Jake quickly began licking the Monkey's face....so I had to get them all to move and when I did...
Jake sat on the other Monkey's head....go figure. You know you can't make animals in the zoo perform for the camera....and I can't make the animals at the IHAN Zoo perform either....what you get is what you get :)
Isn't this a beautiful Christmas quilt? You can't really see it in these photos but the quilting is done with red and green threads...all by hand. I love it...think it is beautiful.
You won't believe where or when I got this beautiful quilt.....I'm still pinching myself. The Monkey's and I stopped at a garage sale today...they wanted 5 dollars for this quilt...yes you read that right...5 bucks!!! I asked why they were selling it for 5 dollars and the lady told me they received it as a wedding gift and they can't even remember who gave it to them. It sits packed in the attic so they decided to get rid of it in their garage sale. So sad for them and so darn lucky for me :)Oh yeah....you can vote on your favorite pets on quilts too. If you want to vote for the IHAN Zoo....that would be cool....if not....that's cool too :) Either way...I get to keep the animals and the quilt so I'm thrilled!!!
Smiles,
KellyBy the way...if you could not see the photos on Wednesdays Post - Increase your E-Notion IQ....I fixed the pix.
That is one beautiful quilt....and one cute set of pets....oh and kids...
ReplyDeleteWow has Jake gotten big. And the two legged monkeys are getting bigger too! All very cute kids and lovely quilt. Thanks for sharing in the Pets on Quilts Show.

Cute little monkeys rollin on the quilt! What a fantastic buy on that quilt, the design is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your photos! What a great family and what a FIND!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy them all!
Love your Zoo. Your quilt is lovely but how sad someone has put all that time, effort and love into making it and they didn't even like it, good for you though!! Linda x
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt and the zoo to :) I'm glad that the quilt now has a good home. Last summer I bought four quilts for $25 at a garage sale. My sisters were extremely happy when they received an antique quilt for their birthdays. My Mom is doing great!
ReplyDeleteLooks like they were all having a wonderful time :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a find!! That quilt is beautiful.
Kelly it looks HAND QUILTED!!! THIS is the reason I don't give quilts as wedding gifts!! You certainly did a good deed by rescuing that beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteLove the monkeys and Jake, who is getting huge. That was fast. That quilt is gorgeous, I can't imagine not appreciating it. I feel for the forgotten quilter.
ReplyDeleteBoys and a dog! Just love the monkey shines.
ReplyDeletebe sure to give them bananas for their work. LOL
ReplyDeletePoor unloved quilt. I am glad you are providing a good home for it.
ReplyDeletegreat find and as for the boys on the floor, Hey the big red kid had it right.. when you are in his territory anything goes...
ReplyDeleteat least you have given the quilt a great home, it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteFun pics-reminds me of the saying about working with animals and children?
Love that quilt and so lucky to find it for that price! Someone had no idea of a quilts worth!
ReplyDeleteYour 3 babies look right comfortable on it!
LOL:) What a fun time for your "monkeys" and dog. What a garage sale find! Awesome quilt. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLovely kids! Is this not a good lesson to us-sign your quilts! I wonder if they would have sold it,if they knew who gave it to them? I am so glad it was "rescued" and given a good home!
ReplyDeleteI love your zoo and am dumbfounded that someone actually sold that quilt for $5! Thank goodness that you found it and appreciate the work that went into it!
ReplyDeleteThat has to be the happiest crew I've seen in awhile, with Jake keeping things under control - haaaaaahhhaaaa!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great family and great quilt! Enjoy them all! A hug!
ReplyDeletePets of all stripes! Two-legged and four-legged
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOODNESS did you score on that quilt - I would die if someone did that to a quilt I made, lol! I'd better be careful who I give them to! Great quilt and even better pics, love those monkeys, lol!
ReplyDeletehehe!! That's so fun, and what a fantastic quilt!!! I can't believe those people! Lucky for you :D
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing out loud. Handsome Jake and the monkeys are good subjects for a photo shoot. And the quilt is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. Great quilt and family.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of a lovely quilt. It always makes me sad though when I hear stories of quilts being unloved in a loft (sorry, attic to you folks in the US) somewhere.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing find and rescue! Some people just don't appreciate the love someone put into that quilt. Glad it will be love by you and your family now. I'm sure the quilt is smiling now!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I can't believe someone sold a wedding quilt. So glad that someone who loves quilts came to its rescue!
ReplyDeleteCute Jake and monkeys! Great story. Glad that you can appreciate the work that went into that. It's fantastic!
ReplyDeleteCute puctures!
ReplyDeletePriceless - all of 'em!!! The monkeys look soooo happy & Jake looks well loved!! I can't wait to vote for the IHAN zoo, so please be sure to put another link next week, when voting opens, k?
ReplyDeleteMy pup loves to sit on whatever is the highest point at the moment. Now that I have foot propped up on a stack of 3 sofa pillows, she tries her darndest to get atop of them too!! It's easier for her when I remove my foot. :)
Cute post! Love seeing all your monkeys!
ReplyDeleteCute kids and dog and pretty quilt. That is so great for you that you were able to get that quilt for 5 bucks. Sad that someone put so much work into it only to have it languish in an attic, unappreciated till you got it.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least now the quilt belongs to someone who appreciates it. I wonder why some one would make a quilt for a wedding and not label it? Looks like your menagerie had a lot of fun with the photo shoot.
ReplyDeleteI voted!
ReplyDeleteJake is a handsome fellow and so are your monkeys. Insane story about the $5 quilt - I am het up on behalf of the person who made it - talk about ingratitude. So glad it belongs in an appreciative home now.
ReplyDeleteWait a minute, this was supposed to be pets on quilts, not pets on kids! (LOL)
ReplyDeleteGiggle! This is priceless....where's the other pup? Didn't you have two? Oh, wait, that would have added another pup to the one pup and two monkeys, and instead of pandemonium you would have had a breakout at the zoo! LOL
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures, Kelly!
Jacque
That was a great yardsale find! And the Monkey and Dog performance was great!
ReplyDeleteJake and the Monkey Brothers are adorable on that beauty of a quilt! Lucky you finding it at a yard sale no less!!! SCORE!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt...and the monkeys and dog!! haha
ReplyDeletePaulette
Yes, that is a beautiful quilt, but the zoo show was too funny! Thanks for sharing these shots.
ReplyDeleteWow Kellie, what an awesome find!! Enjoy the lovely quilt.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are great, too funny, I really like them. And I cannot believe you got this quilt for 5 dollars!! It is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteA boy and his dog. I can't imagine a better photo than a dog sitting on head photo!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt and monkeys!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful quilt and a true bargain of the year for you. Amazing hand quilting, not to mention those priceless pictures.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great bargain on the quilt :) And the zoo animals all look great!
