Raise Your E-Notion IQ- Scissors of All Sorts

Yep, it is Wednesday and time to raise your e-notion IQ.  It is also a special day because I'm a visitor at Sew We Quilt today and in order to read the post.....ya gotta click here to get the skinny. (No, I didn't say get skinny....heck if all it took to do that was a click....I'd be nice an trim..LOL)

    Wonderful post ! I do love my scissors, too ;). But I'm not gonna tell you the right number just because I don't want to sleep with an eye open :))

    Scissors are such fun as they come in different colored handles, shapes, and sizes...and one can never find the one they want at the time they want it...must be the reason we have more then one of each. If I could just find those clippers that are hiding in my hand work.............

    I have nearly 20 cutting tools. I had to buy extra scissors for cutting fabric for garment construction because my husband will not believe me when I tell him how using my scissors for anything BUT fabric dulls and makes them useless to me. I have marked my scissors 'for fabric only' and another 'for paper and crafts'. That has helped but I still hide my fabric scissors!

    great info on one of our fav. "tools"
    and I think we all know where to go for some great Aurafil ... just used it for the first time this spring and I will be getting more.

    I'm still using my good ol' black handled scissors, probably Gingher, and everyone in the family knows that touching them is bad for their health. I have a cheapo pair of embroidery scissors with a little bird thing going on. But my new fav's are the fiskar nipper things that I use for chenniled quilts. I can nip the edges in about 1/100th the time it takes me to use real scissors.

    Haha, what a great scissor tutorial! Love your new look! I have a basketful of scissors, everyone in the house knows where they go - but for some reason, I can never find the right pair. Oh, well, I'll have to get some more. And It's hard for me to resist buying little scissors for my daughters in three different colors...

    I have started following you with my Google Reader. I hope that is how I "become a follower" because that is the only way I know how.
    I have 2 pair of good sewing scissors and 10 pair of mediocre that I use to cut EVERYTHING, hair, paper, string, bags, bandages etc.

    I have both the KKB scissors - thanks to you! She was at our guild last fall and told us the story about what it took to get those scissors made! Wheweeee!! I use a scalpel (sp?) as a seam ripper - the cheaper version of what you use - available at American Science Outlet in Geneva, IL. BTW - totally enjoyed your guest appearance on M. Samm today! I'm intrigued with the book - need to go learn more about it! Have a great day -

    Hi Kelly - an impressive collection of scissors! My problem with scissors is there isn't anyone who seems able to sharpen them correctly, and when something bad happens to them, so that they can't be downgraded at all (you know, from fabric to paper, to plastic, etc...) I have to buy a new one - the problem being that I can never throw the old ones out, and have a collection of "done their time" scissors too! ...Margaret

    I thought that I had lots of scissors, but apparently not. I've purchased many pairs of the Fiskars safety pointed kid's scissors to give as gifts, along with handmade scissor holders, to my quilty friends. These can be carried onto airplanes for those takealong projects.

    I love your scissors collection! I too am in love with nice sharp scissors and as I am getting older, I find my arthritic fingers appreciate those scissors with the larger places for my hands. I want another pair to keep in my sewing basket. Anyway, I am a firm believer in good quality tools. So glad to see you guest hostage, eh I mean host on Madame Same's She is the best!

    I have had scissors in my hands for years and years....in Second Grade I got a love pat on from my Teacher for cutting the red berries for my construction paper wreath too small...I had art critics at such a young age! Now,I get such in a zone with shears and scissors and rotary cutters! Great to know you are the resource for some of those hard to find gadgets.

    Thought I had the right type of scissors for the job, but I'm a neophyte in the scissor departmeny. Just purchased a small pair you can slide a small magnifier on. Thought it would be good for black on black.
