ReplyDeleteHello Kelly Scissorshands - I really do think you live up to that name...did you manage to keep the 'scissor apron' or did you actually have to hand it back?
ReplyDeleteKelly, enjoyed your tut on scissors. Not familiar with the Famore brand but will check them out. The batting scissors are on my list.
ReplyDeleteI WANNA GET SKINNY! And you know I follow Madame Samm...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information on scissors. I have counted ten cutting utensils in my sewing room. I think I need more. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteScissors are such fun as they come in different colored handles, shapes, and sizes...and one can never find the one they want at the time they want it...must be the reason we have more then one of each. If I could just find those clippers that are hiding in my hand work.............
ReplyDeleteThank you for the funny and informative scissor post at Madame Samm's. Those batting scissors are interesting. I own 12 pairs of various sizes for sewing. Then there's the craft scissors. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, Kelly! I'm visiting you through Wantobe Quilter! I'm your newest follower, for now.... I didn't know there were so many different kinds of scissors.... Thanks so much for showing me!! I love your post from yesterday on the free-motion class! Love the echo-butt!!

ReplyDeleteI came from wantobequilter and now follow you. Thanks for all scissor info, now I will have to get some new scissors.
ReplyDeleteI only have 19 pair of scissors, Kelly :0(
ReplyDeleteNew follower here, but I must thank you for two things:
ReplyDelete1) Getting me hooked on Aurafil
2) Giving me a super reference for scissors.
I'm new at this and only have five scissors! Obviously, I am lacking in quality cutlery. Very fun blog!
ReplyDeleteI thought I would click a few times anyhow.. just in case a few pounds would be shed in the process..dang it..you got my hopes up!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly... I will be following you from here on out... I enjoyed the information on the scissors.. I have been hooked on Aurafil for some time... Thanks for giving me a chance to win a wonderful giveqway... Hugs :)
ReplyDeleteI have nearly 20 cutting tools. I had to buy extra scissors for cutting fabric for garment construction because my husband will not believe me when I tell him how using my scissors for anything BUT fabric dulls and makes them useless to me. I have marked my scissors 'for fabric only' and another 'for paper and crafts'. That has helped but I still hide my fabric scissors!
ReplyDeleteAnita Sena
great info on one of our fav. "tools"
ReplyDeleteand I think we all know where to go for some great Aurafil ... just used it for the first time this spring and I will be getting more.
I also just joined your site and will pop by to see what you have been up to I am sure there will be lots to learn here from you
Sew thanks for the info and the chance to add to our tool boxes
I'm still using my good ol' black handled scissors, probably Gingher, and everyone in the family knows that touching them is bad for their health. I have a cheapo pair of embroidery scissors with a little bird thing going on. But my new fav's are the fiskar nipper things that I use for chenniled quilts. I can nip the edges in about 1/100th the time it takes me to use real scissors.
ReplyDeleteHey, btw I'm back in Ohio. Let's do lunch.
Who knew reading about scissors would be enjoyable! Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteLoved your post in Stash Manicure! I thought I had too many scissors until I read your post!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the info..Book marked your site.
ReplyDeleteI think I have 7 ...but going to add more..Have a great day
Thanks for all the info on the scissors. I had no idea that there were so many kinds (that I needed) Looking forward to reading more of your posts.
ReplyDeleteWhen I asked you for help on scissors months ago, I had no idea the depth of your love of all things sharp! You were very helpful to me then, and helpful again with your post today. I need some applique scissors!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your informative post!! I think I need to expand my collection of 2 pairs of scissors!!

ReplyDeletecoming over from sew we quilt...
ReplyDeleteyes, you have become obsessed with cutlery. enjoy!
Haha, what a great scissor tutorial! Love your new look! I have a basketful of scissors, everyone in the house knows where they go - but for some reason, I can never find the right pair. Oh, well, I'll have to get some more. And It's hard for me to resist buying little scissors for my daughters in three different colors...
ReplyDeleteI have started following you with my Google Reader. I hope that is how I "become a follower" because that is the only way I know how.
ReplyDeleteI have 2 pair of good sewing scissors and 10 pair of mediocre that I use to cut EVERYTHING, hair, paper, string, bags, bandages etc.
I have both the KKB scissors - thanks to you! She was at our guild last fall and told us the story about what it took to get those scissors made! Wheweeee!! I use a scalpel (sp?) as a seam ripper - the cheaper version of what you use - available at American Science Outlet in Geneva, IL. BTW - totally enjoyed your guest appearance on M. Samm today! I'm intrigued with the book - need to go learn more about it! Have a great day -
ReplyDeleteYou have some really neat rotary cutters and scissors! I really enjoyed reading about them.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the Stash Manicure post, but you have quite a scissors collection.
ReplyDeleteplease enter me in the contest.
ReplyDeleteSue
Hi Kelly - an impressive collection of scissors! My problem with scissors is there isn't anyone who seems able to sharpen them correctly, and when something bad happens to them, so that they can't be downgraded at all (you know, from fabric to paper, to plastic, etc...) I have to buy a new one - the problem being that I can never throw the old ones out, and have a collection of "done their time" scissors too! ...Margaret
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the scissor info on Stash Manicure. Now I'm a follower with you.
ReplyDeleteGreat getting meet you!

ReplyDeleteDear Kelly
ReplyDeleteI love your scissors collection! I too am in love with nice sharp scissors and as I am getting older, I find my arthritic fingers appreciate those scissors with the larger places for my hands. I want another pair to keep in my sewing basket. Anyway, I am a firm believer in good quality tools. So glad to see you guest hostage, eh I mean host on Madame Same's She is the best!
I am now a follower of your lovely blog.
Cheers
maggie
