Empty

I hope all of you know that this has been one of the most difficult and dark times of my life and at this time I'm empty....I have nothing to offer or share on my blog.  Please know I so appreciate each and every one of you so very much....and....while I am present for the process of my mother's health decline and eminent death....I have very little energy to post or share at this time.

For those of you who do not know, my mother is here with my family.  She has chosen hospice instead of chemo (it would have been my choice in this situation as well) and I am her main care giver.  I will not cheat either of us out of this time together.  I see my absence has affected my blog and business ....yet....I would not change a thing.

I'm still here and if and when I'm able to share....I'll definitely post again.   I appreciate your understanding.

Kelly

  2. You have your priorities in the right order. But please don't forget when you are on empty there are others that care about you deeply and are sending positive thoughts and prayers out to you and your mother daily.

    Big hug Kelly.

  3. Kelly, please know you are doing the right thing. You will never regret spending this time with your mother and caring for her. I haven't regretted at all the times I took away from my life to care for my parents and my husband's parents. It is a blessing when you can return the care to them that he or she gave to you when you were young. Love her, tell her how much she means to you while you can. We love you and are praying for you and your family during this time.

  4. Kelly, you are doing what matters most. Everyone understands that, and we'll be here when you're ready. I know that caregiving can by physically draining and pretty tough on the emotions as well, and yet it is also a precious opportunity. I am sending much love to you and your mom, and keeping your family in my prayers--and I'm certain I am joined by many other people who know you as I do, through your blog.

  8. Kelly please don't apologize for putting your needs and the needs of your family before all of us. Each of us would do the same if we were in your shoes. Take care of yourself as best as you can and we'll still be here when you return. Huge hugs!

  10. I went through the same thing with my dad. It was without a doubt the most difficult thing I have done to date in my life, but I wouldn't have done a thing differently. I will tell you that one thing I learned through that process is to take time for yourself each day...even if it's just a few minutes. Lock yourself in your sewing room, go for a walk, anything as long as it's just for you...it's important! Take care and know that you and your mother remain in my thoughts and prayers.

  19. Kelly, take care of your mom and yourself. Your blogging friends will be praying and supporting. Your business will come back even stronger when the time is right. Please remember that if you don't take care of yourself mentally and physically now, you won't be able to care for those who need you later.

  23. Your time with your Mom certainly is more important than work or blogging. We are all here; and will be here when you are back in full force. Take care.

  24. Kelly, this is just a blog, nice, but, in the scheme of life, pretty unimportant. Your mother, on the other hand, is a very important part of your families life, now, and after her death. Make the most of this time with her. The memories you make now, will sustain you in your future, and give her comfort to her. Don't forget to take care of yourself. You can't care for others if you don't take care of yourself. If anyone in blogland expects more from you, then they just don't get it. We're still praying for your whole family.

  63. Kelly,
Pleas know that I am thinking about you. I at times feel as though I am running on empty as well though for different reasons. When able please don't forget to take a few minutes for yourself even if its just to close your eyes and take a deep breath. Please let me know where I can send cards and Angels as I know that though they can't change the process that they help. We lost my sister in laws brother back in march and they seemed to brighten his day.
