Pincushion Appeal by Cecile McPeak and Rachel Martin
The first time I laid eyes on this book it was mine...I just knew it. Then I saw who wrote it and I knew why I loved it so much. Cecile and Rachel from Just Another Button Company wrote this fun book!!
I do my very best not to "collect" too many things because the more you own, the more it owns you...right? Salt and Pepper shakers are one of my weaknesses and the other is pincushions. I love to give and receive them as they are so much fun. Cecile and Rachel will tickle your pin cushion fancy with all the patterns they have in their new book, Pincushion Appeal.
I can't imagine a down day or being frustrated when looking at this heavenly mushroom including
"embellished wonderments" (my term for Just Another Button Company's products). Pincushions are my anti-depressants...LOL. I just love them :)
Not only are you going to have a chance to win this great new book....but your prize will also include the fabric kit and a tiny packet of extra embellishments. I can not guarantee you'll have the same anti-depressant effects I receive....but I bet you'll be dancing at your mail box if you are the winner.
A few notes about this giveaway....you must be an IHAN ® blog follower to win, you must leave a comment on this blog post (before 1/31/14) and you will be asked to pay the shipping associated with this prize (shipping from 43551 zip code). See the Rafflecopter below to enter.
Best of luck to all of you in the giveaway....if you like Pincusions or know someone who does..I know you'll enjoy this book immensely.
Smiles,
Kelly

ReplyDeletemy fave is the one my granddaughter made me
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pincushion is a simple square that is tied in the middle with a ribbon and buttons, out of a pink floral fabric. I bought it at a guild fund raiser years ago for a buck, but love it as it is small enough to drag around everywhere, but pretty and the pins go through it like butter.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is a pincushion shaped like a flower that I made years ago. But since I started reading blogs I have seen some pincushions that are over-the-top cute! And it looks like this book is full of them! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pincushion is a top hat that my daughter made for me...I love pincushions and would love to have this book...thank you for such giving us a chance to win this lovely book...I have been a follower of your blog for a long time now.
ReplyDeleteI found an elephant pin cushion at a garage sale made out of feedsack. It came home with me in a heartbeat! (I actually think it started life as a child's stuffed toy, but someone started using it for a pincushion somewhere along the line.

PS..I follow your blog through Blog Lovin.
I decided this year I wanted to make pin cushions. About two years we called all over Stratford trying to find crushed walnut shells-none. About a month ago he came home with five lbs of it so I guess I better get busy. So happy to see how well you are doing.

The pin cushion designs in this book would certainly make for cute and yet functional decorations for our sewing rooms, as well as amazing gifts. Super cute.

A few years ago I made a very small woolen pin cushion to carry with me when I work on my hexies on the go. I love that little thing, and keep thinking I should make a bigger one to keep by my sewing machine. Seeing the darling blue bird in this book makes me glad I've waited--I'd be giddy if that bird were by my machine.
ReplyDeleteThose little projects would be great project for between the big ones... or when you need something small to take about!!! The book looks fun!
ReplyDeleteI have my mother's much worn and much loved tomato pin cushion and strawberry emery. I treasure it. Not worth a fig to anyone but me, but that is what matters. Thanks for a chance to win this book. I love to make pin cushions.
ReplyDeleteI don't have very many pincushions and I have been wanting to make some for me and gifts. I do have a heart shaped pincushion that was crocheted a long time ago. I found it in my grandmother's thing.
ReplyDeleteI dont have very many pincushions either. My favorite one that I have is one I made that is like a log with a piece that comes down and has pockets for my seam ripper and marking pins.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness that mushroom is fantastic, need more.....
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun project! Would love to win it!

ReplyDeleteI'm a follower - ideas for pin cushions seem really fun. Thanks for putting my name in the hat for the drawing.
ReplyDeleteI saw this book at the Houston Quilt Festival and forgot to go back and pick it up, which is easy to do at that show. Very nice projects inside - just full of creativity.
ReplyDeleteMy guild had a swap last year. It was so much fun to see the different designs people came up with. I had so much fun I made 10 to give away to my quilting buddies. Love to win a book with more designs to try.
ReplyDeleteJust too cute! Who would have thought that a day would come when we could never have enough pin cushions. Gone are the utilitarian pin cushions of yesteryear!
