new blog post up

Summer doings in Kentucky have been more fun this year. Unlike last year, no one was able to visit us and see our little slice of 'God Country'. So this year we have visitors, crafts, sewing, blocks, and winnings. I was working on another post but got stuck... So I thought I would show you some of the creating interruptions.

Winnings

Some days I have a chance to read and catch up with blogs that I follow and comment when...

There is always more to do...

Not that I needed to find another task, especially at this time of year. But I did!

The Closet Area

I made a plan to complete the inside of the closet area. Bought all the stuff and moved all the miscellaneous boxes of stuff out of the closet space to hang the uprights. This closet is...

A Busy Waiting Season

It's been a busy waiting season. I started several posts. How many "Life on the Farm" posts are too many? Creativity was not a topic either, I had not been creative. That has changed a little.

Life in the country seems to be about the only thing I have to share... no one wants to hear about .....

More from the Country

Things are mooooving along out here in the country. While the virus rages, we seem to find plenty to keep us busy and therefore at home most of the time. I find myself looking at the sky more often than I did in town. This reflection of the clouds in ...

The Course of Life- a road with twists and turns

The course of Life is full of twists and turns! What makes travel down one road fun might create difficulties on the next!!! Or conversely what was a problem is now FUN!!!

The Big Twist- the last move

For the last few weeks, we keep reminiscing about where we were a year ago!!! It's only been a year since ...

COVID-19 and the Stay Home Order

So how is this mess going for you? I have to say that it started out pretty strange, having to "stay at home". We are enjoying the farm and can't imagine being in town close to friends and neighbors and having to just stay home!!! It got a little rough... but got better when I made some changes and choices! At first, like so many others, I was at a loss for what to do. Not like...

More Springtime

My favorite season is spring. All the new springtime growth, especially the spring flowers that have a very short lifespan. But there was just a little more… than vegetation this week.

Some Visitors
new critters both wild and domestic. There are no new domestic critters, but recently a pair of wild...

Spring on the Farm

The title is loose, as far as spring on a farm goes. Unless a 'clowder' of cats and a flock of hens is farm material.

Springtime Neighbors

As I mentioned last time... with spring and some growing grass new neighbors have MOOOOved in! This morning. There are about 20 cows and 10-12 calves. Several are just a few months old

Making Progress on the Remodel: Renovation Update

Keeping Up

Does this give you an idea of why I haven’t been posting? We are still in the midst of the remodel, we lived with this mess for 5 days. We discovered in the kitchen, dining and 1/2 bath, that the linoleum and luan area had been stapled and glue

and wait there is MORE!

Aside from all the things keeping me busy in the last post… there was MORE!

In September I Have A Notion had a booth at a quilt show. The local Elizabethtown Kentucky Heartland of Kentucky Quilt Show. They have a show every year. This year there were 500 quilts on display and 22 vendors. It was a very busy 2 days.

Using the Tools

I started this post on using Quilters Select Rulers because I had an opportunity to show them off in February. Once I figure out what to say, I think about supporting pictures and that leads to more things to say, and then more pictures, which makes for more post parts. So I will break it up into smaller chunks.

My Style
I really like simple and straight forward, and I hope you do too. I want to share the (my) creative process with you as well as the products “I” use so you can feel comfortable with the products available at I Have A Notion™ .....

The State of the Store : Values, Stock and Products

In a little less than a year the state of the store has changed significantly. The web site started crashing and elements were not functioning requiring major renovations. I Have A Notion™, started down the road to the new look, new web site, new stock; well new everything! The site is modernized, sleek and organized. It will always be a work in progress, but the key elements are in place.

What are the Goals

To improve the State of the Store, new stock and products are being added all the time. Not just the newest hottest things, but the tried and true. Products that have stood...

Quiltcon Nashville 2019

As promised some pictures from Quiltcon Nashville.

There were lots of very interesting quilts; some visually stimulating, some left us scratching our heads, and some very loud statements. Almost all of them were interesting in some way- form, color, quilting or pattern. While Quiltcon tries to be different, getting photographs was difficult. Aisles were a bit

A Little Sticky, Some Blue and a TIP

Its been a little sticky and blue In the Creative Space. A picture of the ‘chickens’ loaded on the longarm was in the last post. So far that hasn’t changed, still no thread.

The Sticky
So what about the sticky and blue? I use a lot of fusible products and I try as many as I can find and afford. The favorite (to read more, go to www.ihaveanotion.com/blog)
