Beam N Read Pre-Holiday Gift Giveaway Nov. 14-21, 2011

Who is on your gift list this holiday season....I really do want to know.  Who would you want to receive the gift of a fantastic portable light?
That portable light just so happens to be a Beam N Read 6 LED Light
(the older I get the more light I need)
I don't know what I did before I had my Beam N Read 6 LED Light (the IHAN clan now has four in our emergency bag)  Who would have ever thought that a portable light would come in handy for so many things.  Certainly not me....but all of that has changed.
The Beam N Read Lights are indispensable during bad weather.  Our electricity went out and I grabbed our emergency bag and took out our Beam N Read Lights and each one of us put one on.  Our hands were free because the lights are on an adjustable strap around our necks.  It is tough to use your hands while holding a flash light...our Beam N Read Lights just hang around our necks.
Ok...on to the much more fun ways to use a Beam N Read Light......
They are wonderful for counting all that money you just stole from your local bank (where else are we going to get the money we need for all the fabric we desire?).  You're gonna be hiding under that bed for a very long time ya know.
And ya can't exactly use a lighter while hiding under a bed in the dark now can ya?

(Me disguised as a man hiding in my closet....I'm getting ready to increase my stash big time :)

I know many of you are not prepared for robbing banks so I thought I'd let you know the Beam N Read Lights are  perfect for all hand needle work, sewing, reading, taking evening walks, and camping.  I use mine while we travel too.
Now you have some great ideas for using a Beam N Read Light....
Who would you give one to this holiday season?  Leave a comment on this post  telling me who  you want to give a Beam N Read Light to to enter the giveaway.  You don't need to leave a person's name...My Dad, Sister, Quilting Buddy....etc. will do just fine.  You do need to be an IHAN blog follower to qualify and leave your comment before Nov. 21, 2011.

Can't wait?  Order your Beam N Read Lights NOW at I Have A Notion (IHAN)  and I'll pay your shipping...yep...Free Shipping in the US only ...hurry because I'm only feeling generous until midnight Nov. 21, 2011  :)  Coupon Code for Free Shipping on Beam N Read Lights Only is:
Free BNR Shipping
AND
If you have not checked out Patsy Thompson's blog post about how she uses her Beam N Read, you better head over and check out how she uses her light.

Smiles,
Kelly

  1. I want one for me! But I think my grandson would like one too. He is always doing close work of some kind. He's a natural gadget creator.

  2. I'd give one to me! (Kelly, I'm not officially a "follower", but I have you on my blogroll that updates automatically -- don't know if that counts). Anyway, thanks for the chance -- I've heard great things about this light!

    ReplyDelete
  3. My husband. It would be great for him when he works on electronics. Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  4. I think I need to keep the first one and check it out and then maybe give one to my quilt friend.

    ReplyDelete
  5. My husband definitely. He is always hurting himself in the dark trying not to disturb me sleeping when he gets home super late from work.

  9. I would give it to my daughter. She loves to read late at night in her room.

    ReplyDelete
  10. When I buy gifts for friends, I tend to buy 2, 1 more me and 1 for her. I would give the Beam'n Read to my closest quilting friend, but then i would have to buy one for me, too!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I would definitely get one for my daughter - she loves to read in the car and is constantly complaining when it's too dark to read!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'm a 'turned 50' this year gal...I NEED the light. As it happens each year, hubs needs a bit of 'help' getting me a pressie, so I"d wrap it up for me tee hee.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm a follower! I would give one to my Mother in Law. She loves to embroider and this would be a perfect gift.

  14. My sister - poor thing can't see any better than me! I love my Beam N Read and carry it everywhere with me, just in case. :) blessings, marlene

  15. My daughter could use one (me too)! She's an avid reader.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I would love to give the Beam n Read to my daughter who likes to read in bed when her husband is trying to sleep. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your great giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I would have to flip a coin between my MIL for handstitching or my favorite aunt for reading. And once I tested it, then I know I would have to buy one for myself!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think my son-in-law would love one of these. He and my daughter go to bed at the same time, but he's such a night owl that he stays up reading for a while and they'd both appreciate him being able to see what he was reading without having the beside lamp on! :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. I would gift this light to me. It would solve so many problems I'm having with my eyesight. Thanks so much for the generous giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I would love to give the Beam and Read light to my 95 year old mother-in-law because she still does beautiful embroidery!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'd like one for me.. but my momma could use one too. She isn't getting any younger, and if it is this hard for me to see, it can't be any easier for her.

    ReplyDelete
  22. My hubby needs one of these lights so that he can read in the middle of the night without disturbing me. And I happen to have his name in the Christmas gift exchange draw.....

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'd give one to my oldest sister-in-law (I have three sister-in-laws!). She does a lot of hand quilting. To be honest, I'd keep it for myself because it'd be great in my sewing room at night where there is poor light! :-)

Thank you for a chance to win. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  24. If I won, I might just gift it in our quilt group's gift exchange! Thanks for the chance, it looks fabulous!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I would love to give the light to a wonderful friend who sews doll clothes for porcelain dolls that she makes. She visits many shut-ins and is always giving to others.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'd love one for me but my husband could use one too. I'm with you in needing more light as I've gotten older. My response was to drag another light over to where I sit. The Beam N Read would be so much easier!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I would give one of these to my husband. His eyesight isn't as good as it once was. He needs lots of light when he reads and works on projects. The Beam n Read looks like it would be a great tool. Thanks for a chance to win one.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hubby -he's getting back into working on electronics and his eyes are not so young as they were in college...

    ReplyDelete
  29. That little light has been on my wish list for a long time. I sew a lot in the evenings, mostly for my daughters and daughter-in-law. I NEED more light the older I get. Who would I give the light to? ME!!! Because the more I can work in the evenings, the more I can make for my girls.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I would like one, but I'm sure DH would want when he's working on items that have very small parts.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I need to give one of these to my dad! He refuses to accept he needs glasses, and can never see a menu anymore at a restaurant, always blaming the lighting!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Very neat. I would give it to my mom as she was just saying she needed more light

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'd give the light to me (have to check it out first before giving as gifts to others right?!? LOL!!!)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would give it to my mom. She loves to knit, cross stitch, or sew in the evenings!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hi Kelly, I'm a happy follower of your blog. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hmmm....well if I were SELFISH, I would give it to me, but I guess since I'm NOT selfish (LOL), I will give it to my alter ego. LOL Seriously, I'm thinking I would give myself a nice Christmas gift since the hubs and I don't exchange gifts anymore. This looks AWESOME! Thank you for the chance!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well, I think I would give it to my mom. She is 93. Four years ago, she was headed back to her car--she still drove and lived alone--when the woman parked next to mom's car ran over mother! Mother lost sight in one eye--one of the more minor injuries. I think this would help her see her mail and other papers more easily.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'd give it to my hubby so he can read in bed and I can sleep!

    ReplyDelete
  39. On top of using that Beam n Read under the bed after the heist...you can use it to change the tire that the security guard shot out as you were making your get-away!! :)
Is it fair to give yourself a Christmas gift?? Well, that's probably a bit tacky so I'd like to give the light to a friend whose eyes could use the extra light since a detached retina left her with limited vision in the one eye.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Probably my BF since we have these discussions about keeping our husbands awake while we read ourselves to sleep. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I would give the Beam n Read to my mother-in-law. She is 90 years old and is slowly losing her eyesight. She loves to read but finds that she has to read in short slices of time and then let her eyes rest. I gave her a Daylight floor lamp with a magnifier but it is difficult for her to position it where it helps the most. Perhaps this light would be easier for her.

Anyway, thanks very much for hosting the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'd give one to my grandson for reading late at night on stay overs at grandma's when he's supposed to be sleeping. Yeah, I'm an enabler :D

    ReplyDelete
  43. I really like your idea of having a Beam N Read light in your emergency pack, for every family member. Great idea! I think I need one in my sewing room, some in our Family emergency pack, car, boat, etc. And, I'm definitely taking it on any future airplane ride (their lighting is terrible).

  44. I would want my husband to have one. As we climb the age ladder he has a difficult time seeing the measuring tape. Since I have so many projects for him to complete, he needs to see that tape. OK so I have ulterior motives, but I still want him to have one. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hi I'd love to give one to my hubby whose eyes are not the best anymore :) kind regards Sam

    ReplyDelete
  46. This is a brilliant idea, literally as was well as figuratively. I'd give one to my sister in law, and hope that Santa might give one to me, too! Our eyes aren't as young as they used to be!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Of course, I'm a follower. I need to keep up on tools. I need the beam N read. Patsy T comment about sewing down binding in a motel room was the clincher. You can barely see in motel rooms

    ReplyDelete
  48. I would give the light to either my husband or daughter. They are in a community band together and it would be great when they need light to see their music. thanks for the chance to win. I am a follower.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Let me be a spokesperson for how much I LOVE mt Beam N Read!!! I bought one from you a while back and I've loved it to death! I've lost one of the little strappy thingamabobs and I've had to tie a knot on the side but it still works for me!! I can't go an evening without using it to stitch. My Grandchildren even drew a picture of me with "Grandmama's flashlight" around her neck!!
I wouldn't mind winning another one just so I could have a strap that is tied on correctly! LOL
    Blessings
    Gmama Jane

  50. This would go to my quilting friend who does not have good lighting anywhere where we do handwork.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'd give one to my husband, so that I can use it to read in bed without disturbing him. I could also use it for sewing in the evening so I don't turn every light in the house on to get enough light, which would save him worrying about the electricity bills.

    Aren't I thoughtful?

    ReplyDelete
  52. My hubby would get mine, as he does a lot of close work in his workshop...I'll bet this would work a lot better than his shop light! Oh, and then I'll borrow it while I'm sewing....

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hi Kelly, thanks so much for bringing this little light to our attention. You are so right. As we age it takes so much more light to see. If I don't win one, I shall be purchasing one for sure. Sally@GrannyBea.com

    ReplyDelete
  54. I NEED one of these for myself. I'm starting to collect lights all over my sewing room and am sure the power company will be visiting my house soon to tell me I'm using so much power they need to request me to stop so the local businesses can once again have lighting in their stores. haha

Ok but, since we have to say who we'd give one to ~ It would be my wonderful husband. His birthday is in a few weeks and then we have Christmas coming all too soon as well. He could use this light SO much while he's working inside computers. Most of the time he is needing to use both hand so he's got a flashlight pointing toward whatever he's working on in there while holding that flashlight in his mouth. I KNOW he'd love one of these lights and then he can save those mouth muscles for kisses for his lovely wife for giving him such an amazing gift. :)

  55. I am new to your blog, it was referenced in another yahoo group as I recall. As much as I would love to have one for myself, I would love to see my MIL have something that would make seeing easier for her after several eye surgeries. Thanks, and I will have to look further through your site.

    ReplyDelete
  56. My sister. She loves to read and doesn't alway have the proper light. I love mine for hand sewing and I know she would love one too.

    lsandes@comcast.net

    ReplyDelete
  57. I don't know who needs one more, me or hubby. He does lots of workworking, I do lots of stitchery and quilting. If we had one, I would have to keep it for myself.

    ReplyDelete
  58. My mother would be the recipient as may allow her to sew more in the evenings - I call it Beam N Sew. Thanks for the giveaway. I am a follower.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I would love to have one, but I would get one for my husband first, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  60. You are too generous! I, of course, need a Beam and Read in my sewing room... but DH needs one first for his projects and winter reading.
    Hugs to you,
    Mary

  61. Kelly, my favorite thing to do in the early morning is get my coffee and check your blog. Makes the start of my day so delightful.
I live in a tiny town on the side of a beautiful mountain in Oregon - out in the middle of nowhere. Our electricity goes out all the time during the winter months. I cannot sit still while waiting for power. I'm a do-er. I go nuts with nothing to do. I have to be doing something at all times, so this would brighten my winter months and let me look forward to the 4 feet of snow we get every couple of weeks during the winter...instead of dreading it because of the power outages. I know this is suppose to be for someone besides myself and it is!! It's for my husband! Without lights, I go nuts so he goes nuts.(and he can't handle "nuts" like I can) Our outages usually last a couple of hours each time, and it is always in the evening. I've tried reading quilting magazines (my fav) or do hand work with a flashlight, but it doesn't work.
If I had the Beam and Read light, I could read my mags and do my binding and hand work instead of frightening my husband with the frantic look I get with nothing to do in the dark. Of course I would use it even when I have electricity. It would be a great asset to the fine details of my quilting. Also, I use cheaters when I quilt and read and do just about everything. With the magnifier attached to it, I could chuck my reading glasses.
And my husband would thank you for making his life bearable during the black outs. So it really is for him. I could guarantee you that he will personally thank you if I win it. :-) Jeanne

  62. The Beam and Read would be a wonderful tool to use late at night when even the best lamp in the house never seems to emit enough light! I am a follower of the IHAN blog and count on the great reciews of ptoducts!

    ReplyDelete
  63. My Sister who likes to do handwork in the evening.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I could really use it, but I 'spose I could give it to my husband, he needs it too. And I could use it when he's not home... Thanks for the chance to win.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I so want to give one to myself...for reading the kidlets their bedtime stories and then for my binding work after they are in dream land.

    ReplyDelete
  66. My husband Gary. He desperately needs one and I just told him I am going to have to get him one of those miner lights on a helmet for him to get up and roam during the night!
    Thanks for the chance.

    ReplyDelete
  71. It would be so good for stitchery for me or my mom.

    ReplyDelete
  72. You've inspired me again, Kelly...my ship just doesn't seem to be coming in; or at least it is in the wrong harbor maybe. I think that the bank is a great idea. LOL Gotta do something to be able to get fabric!! Heehee - I would be sorely tempted to keep it, but I think (operative word is think...not completely sure) I'd give it to hubby's mom, so she wouldn't have to feel around for things any more! Oh, OK, I promise I'll give it to her. Are you satisfied now? :)

    ReplyDelete
  73. I would give the Beam N Read to my daughter for those late night feedings of my 6 week old grandson...would make late night feedings go a little easier.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  75. I'm a follower, and I want to win, please. I could really use a beam and read. Cute post.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Omg!!! That would be great for my Stepdad (more like my real dad)!!! When he sews my bindings on my quilts it would make it so much easier for him. You know you have a great dad when he does that for you!

    ReplyDelete
  77. I would love to give the Beam N Read to my niece who is also my quilting buddy.....and maybe she would let me borrow it sometimes!!!!! Love your site....I learn something(s) new every time I stop by.

    ReplyDelete
  78. This would be a fabulous gift for my daughter. And since she lives with us, I could probably borrow it...

    ReplyDelete
  79. My friend Nora who I go walking with. She is my sounding board for anything "quilty" and often times is the "light bulb moment" when I am in a quandry quilting wise. Thanks for the chance, Dianne

    ReplyDelete
  80. I'd love to win a Beam 'n Read for myself. I've developed a form of glaucoma & this would definitely help. I'm a follower. And thanks for the great giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  81. The Beam n' Read light would be a great help when doing hand sewing and quilting. I would love to win one. Thanks for sharing this.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Just to be able to see my handwork as I am doing it would be an added plus! This light would really allow me to see what I am working on while the hubs and son are watching TV.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I am a follower and I would either give it to my mom (who is an avid quilter) but my 3 yr old son would find it amazing as well!

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'd probably give it to my mom, but my dad would likely "borrow" it from her too. Definitely going on my Christmas list for Santa too!

    ReplyDelete
  85. OH! I'd love the Beam N Read light! How useful for us night owls-when your better half is sound asleep!!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Can I give it to myself? :) My 50th birthday is Dec. 21 and I would love to have this to do my handwork with better lighting to save my eyes for another 50 years!!!
    (I am a follower)

    ReplyDelete
  87. I would give a Beam N Read light to my mother in a heart-beat! She has tried many different lamps in her reading/TV room... They have either produced too much glare for comfort or not enough light for her tasks. The Beam N Read light looks like a wonderful solution for her. It also seems to be perfect for me to use when sewing binding on a quilt...
Happy Thanksgiving, to you & your loved ones.
Kathleen D from Sun Lakes, AZ

    ReplyDelete
  92. My mum of course is the first to come to mind..it's hard work to do excellent work when the focus isn't as good as it once was. Every little bit of light helps though. this would really be great for Mum. She has recently taken up doll making and there is a real challenge in the minature that tasks older eyes. So thank-you for the chance to bless her as she seeks to bless her grandchildren!

    ReplyDelete
  93. I would give it to my mom. She is in her late 80's and needs bright light to read. Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  94. I would give the Beam N Read to my 87 yo friend, mentor, hand quilter extrodinaire! She still quilts every evening sitting in her rocker watching TV & squinting at her work!

    ReplyDelete
  95. As much as I'd like one for my handwork, I think I'd give the Beam N Read to my husband for his late night reading. We really don't need to light up the whole bedroom just because he can't sleep!

    ReplyDelete
  96. This would be perfect for my daughter, who is a jeweler and does close work - at all times of the day or night!

    ReplyDelete
  97. My 14 year old daughter reads all the time Kelly and she would love this I reckon....the first thing in the morning when she has her breaky she reads and the last thing at night when I am telling her to get to sleep...lol...hugs Khris

    ReplyDelete
  98. I would give it to....ME!! lol I've pretty much had to give up hand stitching after dusk because I can't see well enough to do a good job of it. BUT, I'm not selfish, so I would share with my DH, as there are times that he's asking me to hold a flashlight for him because he needs more light too. I sure hope that we win one!

    ReplyDelete
  99. I would love to give it to my 89 yr. old aunt Vicky. It might be helpful wwhen she's crocheting afghans or reading. Sometimes a lamp just isn't enough, for her close up work anymore. Thank you for this generous giveaway. I'm an existing follower. ;->
