My own mother was a hot mess....What a lovely post. My own mother was a hot mess. Her mental illness, not chosen by her or us, caused a lot of hurt for the whole family. But any strengths and all the empathy I have came from growing up in those circumstances, so how can I complain? As for the rest, as you say, hopefully I will be forgiven for my failings.
