Day Eight Giveaway

Ohhhhh Ahhhhh these are so neat. Today you could win "Little Pieces-Miniature Quilt Art" pattern AND "Vintage Grains -Miniature Quilt Art" pattern by Galloping Pony Studio.

I saw these made up at Quilt Market and they were so neat. Aren't you glad the picture came out right side up today? I hate to have everyone always bending over looking through their legs to see my pix in the right orientation!!!

Today is the 4 Th of July....so to have a chance to win today you need to leave a comment telling us what you are doing today or what you have done today. Don't leave out any of the really yummy/juicy details....like how chocolaty the cookies will be or how red and juicy the strawberries were. Feel free to send pix too :)

Did you read "Giveaway Rules"?

Smiles,

Kelly

  1. Being an aussie Juy means very little to me, today we went to the local community markets - they have everything from trash and treasure to lovely Noro wool, plants, lots of handcraft, fresh friut and veg.... you get the idea. Then met up with DD Kate, SIL Graeme and DGD Lily and had lunch at Macarthur Square - local large shopping centre with them. We then went display home looking checking out what they like and can afford to build. Now 7pm EST (Sydney, NSW Australia) and time to find the knitting and sit and watch the rugby league.

  5. No plans for today except to get the house ready for the kids to come home for next week. Tomorrow is the big family picnic at my sister-in-laws. Way too much food, games, swimming, lots of kids and conversation. Also celebrating my father-in-law's b'day!

  6. First will be a barbeque at my sister's house and then a fireworks display with the grandbabies. It is a beautiful day out now and supposed to stay that way all day.
I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

  8. Our plans for today have been changed. We intended to go celebrate with hot dogs and patriotic music at the nursing home with my mom. She is sick today though and can't participate. I sat with her all morning. I just came home for lunch and will go back this afternoon. If she's ok later today my DH and I will have hot dogs with his mom and dad next door and then go to the town's firework's celebration at a nearby park. There's going to be a band made up of our former classmates. They had this band back in the 60s when we were in hs and they played for dances every Fri and Sat night back then. They have recently just gotten back together. A little nostalgia. I just pray that mother is ok enough that I can leave her for a while and that she doesn't end up back in the hospital.

  10. We are visiting family this evening. I just cut the watermelon. They are making fancy sandwiches. We are taking our picnic dinner to the church grounds to watch fireworks. We actually began celebrating last night with neighbors. We had two other couples over for dinner and wonderful conversation. Happy 4th!

  11. The day started by taking the puppy for a swim in the bay (she liked that). Then it is home again and garage cleaning. Later we will picnic with friends and family and spend the evening on the boat in the bay watching all the fireworks. There is no better place to watch them, no crowds, no tall guy in front of you, and on a clear night you can usually see three town's fireworks. All, in all, a good day.
    Thanks for te great giveaways.

  12. Hi Kelly, A really happy 4th of July to all of you! As I am in the UK, it has been 'business' as usual.. you really don't want to know! (walked the dog, been to the supermarket, into town, the library, that sort of thing...) No party here, or colours! But I am planning on a quiet day tomorrow and do some quilting!! yay!!

Thanks for putting this giveaway on, yours were some very fun questions! Still laughing about that chicken joke....

  14. Ha! Hubby is working nights this weekend, so we planned nothing! We started the day off (once he woke up) by cutting down all the winter killed canes on my grape vine :( First year this happens..there are still some vines growing down low (where the snow insulated them I'm guessing). Went off to shop at a surplus/salvage with my daughter and grandbaby (her hubby is woking the same shift). Bought a few bday presents and a pair of shoes....(smile). Hubs is gone in now, and I'm playing on the puter. DULL DULL day by most standards.

Pulling files, sending data, running backups. I work for grocery store chain and holidays are our big days. Hope everyone else has more fun that me.

  16. Today my brother and his family came over and the children decorated our pontoon for the patriotic boat parade. They did an excellent job, the parade was a blast and we came back and had a yummy picnic, hot dogs, hamburgers on the grill, sweet corn and waffle iron cookies.

  17. To celebrate the 4th, my daughter made red, white and blue pancakes for brunch. Mmmm, blueberry jam and fresh raspberries--and best of all, I didn't have to cook! Happy Independence Day to Kelly and all her readers.

  18. Okay, what I have done today...well, in May while we were in Arizona, a hit and run driver took out our front yard chain link fence. We had to get it replaced quickly after we got back because we have dogs...well, little people in fur...so we did the job ourselves, including breaking out the old cement and put in new. It looked so good that it made the rest of the older fence look really bad (it was 25 years old, lol). So 3 weeks ago, we decided to replace the rest of it and after working cement Tue and Wed (yes...me too) today just happened to be the day we had to stretch and hang the new fencing and put a new gate up. With just my hubby and I working on it, it took up from 8 am to 4 pm and now we are going to kick back for the evening and let the dogs enjoy having their yard back. I doubt that either one of us will be awake for fireworks, but that doesn't mean we don't appreciate just how important today is. OH...I did make brownies a little while ago, we needed a treat because we have one more day of fencing on the other side and we are done for this year. The back yard can wait!!! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to give my poor pup her 'fireworks' tranquilizers before she goes into apeplexy!!! Happy 4th to everyone!!!
