IHAN's 30 Days of Giveaways
Anniversary Celebration
Day 16 Giveaway
by Edyta Sitar
The first time I heard Edyta Sitar speak was at the Toledo Gathering of Quilters. She had come to give a program and share her quilts. It was such a wonderful experience for me. Edyta did not just share details about how she made her quilts, she shared the real life stories behind what inspired her to make the quilts. Her quilts took on new dimension for me and I began to think differently about quilting. I volunteered to help her husband hold up quilts while she gave her lecture. Being 6' tall is an advantage for holding up quilts for others to see. My secret motive was to be able to see them close up and touch them too.
These are 5 of Edyta's patterns from Laundry Basket Quilts. She sent them to be given away to 5 very lucky IHAN blog readers.
Both books are excellent. I love applique so I just had to have Hop To It. Friendship Triangles came out after Fall Quilt Market and IHAN was fortunate enough to be able to give an autographed copy to a lucky IHAN blog reader :) Many guilds and friends have had a great time participating in the Triangle Block Exchange Program Edyta shares in her book.
That's not all....Edyta now designs fabric for MODA too!!!
I have purchased her Aloha fabric line and I love, love, love it!!! To purchase some of Edyta's fabric you can click here and you will magically be taken to the land of beautiful fabrics :)
Now you know why I like Edyta Sitar's patterns, books and fabrics....she has a gift!
The above pictured patterns will be given to five very lucky IHAN blog readers. To qualify please leave a comment on this post telling us if you are familiar with Edyta's work and why you would like to win one of her patterns. Feel free to share your preference so if you win I'll know what pattern you would like :)
Thank you Edyta and Laundry Basket Quilts for joining in IHAN's Anniversary Celebration!!!
Smiles,
Kelly

I love Edyta's designs, but so far I haven't gotten around to making any. I'd love to move from using her as an inspiration to actually creating one of her designs with my fabric choices. Winter Lily has caught my eye before, but I like Vine and Berries, too. Now I'm off to look at her fabrics-I didn't know!!
ReplyDeleteGee, I'm not familiar with Edytha, but she sure is some talented lady. If I were to win I'd choose either the Daffodil or the Starburst patterns. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteDid not know Edyta's work but my favorite is the daffodil.
ReplyDeleteA quick peek at the fabrics made me smile!
Oh, my gosh....they are all beautiful. I had not heard of her work until I read this post. They all look SO hard, though. I am wondering if I'd be able to do ANY of them??? I love the look of the daffodil the best...and then Vine and Berries and then Shooting Star.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of her before today. I absolutely love her batik materials! They are gorgeous! My favorite pattern being offered is the vine and berries table runner. I love the smaller projects because I know I will actually get them done!
ReplyDeleteI have not heard of her work until I started to blog a couple of months ago. I love the Daffodil Quilt and The Vines and Berries pattern.
ReplyDeleteI also like the looks of her fabric.
Elaine
Hi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteI love Daffodils and I believe I saw it at the Lancaster Quilt show last weekend. Hope I win it!
Were you there? I thought it was you getting off the elevator as I was getting on but the crush of people makes it difficult to communicate. We had lots of fun.
As always, include me, please
ReplyDeleteI adore Edyta's patterns and would absolutely love to win the Winter Lily pattern!
ReplyDeleteIf I win i'd really like the Winter Lily pattern. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win any of Edyta's patterns, fabrics...I love, love them all! I just love to quilt, love our sight...can I just quilt 24/7? Are you giving away sleep?
ReplyDeleteI haven't made any of Edyta designs but one of these days when things calm down she is at the top of my to do list. I like Shooting Star..
ReplyDeleteI did Edyta's elegant garden quilt as BOM from my LQS and it's one of my favorite quilts. The blocks were small but fun. I just went to her website and see she's has a Hop To It embroidery CD...I might have to check this out. If I win I would probably choose Winter Lily but I like them all.
ReplyDeleteThose are some beautiful quilts. I am not familiar with her work, but it is stunning. I love the Shooting Star, but would probably never finish it in a lifetime so would pick the Vines and Berries.

ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with Edyta's work, so thanks for introducing me. I especially like Shooting Star and Snow Sparkle.
ReplyDeleteThank you for introducing Edyta to us. I have not seen her work before. I would love to make the daffodil pattern for my mom who is an experienced (88 years) gardener...starting digging in the dirt her first years of life :-)

I like the Shooting Star or the Snow Sparkle patterns best.
ReplyDeleteWinter Lily & Vine and Berries are my favorites. I have seen her work before and think it is absolutely beautiful.

I have not seen Edyta's work before, but after reading about her here have searched on the internet for her. She has BEAUTIFUL stuff...

Hi what lovely patterns. I would be happy with any of them, but the vines and berries is the one that 'takes my eye', especially as I have just discovered the joys of applique. thanks for making this possible. Sam (Sandra) s.downes@murdoch.edu.au
ReplyDeleteI am not familar with Edyta's work, yet have heard of Laundry Basket Quilts. Well, I have never purchased a quilt pattern, though have purchased technique books that have patterns. It would be a learning experience to actually use a pattern with real instructions. Perhaps my end product would look better. Winning the Shooting Star pattern would be a good place to begin.:)
