I was walking down an isle at Quilt Market and my eyes landed on these Quilts. The energy of these Quilts just drew me in. I loved the colors, patterns and overall movement. Have you ever just had something "grab" you and you just wanted to move towards it? (I'm not talking about ice cream or chocolate here...I'm one level up in the arts...lol)
Pam's husband is a "real" photographer so he helped me take some photos while I had the opportunity to get to know Pam a little better. I only wish he could have made my black and white strip shirt look better. I'm certain it is his photography and not my shirt!!! LOL
If I had sat down I'm certain I would not have gotten up until the end of the day. I just loved the way the Quilts were displayed and the booth was laid out.
Can you feel the energy? I re-experience it by just looking at the photos.
I don't think I could sleep in if I slept with this quilt. I know I would smile every time I saw it, even in the night when I'm headed back to bed.....I'd just feel that, "oh yeah baby" feeling.Isn't this table runner just beautiful? It could be made in your colors and it would be great on a formal table as well as a casual table depending on the fabric. (I'm thinking some Dupioni Silk would be WONDERFUL)
I really enjoyed getting to meet Pam and seeing all of the Aardvark Quilt Patterns. As I went to purchase some patterns Pam offered to give me two patterns to give away on my blog. Woooo Hoooo!!! IHAN blogifers love Giveaways, don't you?
Both patterns have been autographed too!!!
If you would like to have the opportunity to own one of these two patterns, I'd like you to leave a comment on this post telling us why you want to win one of the Aardvark Quilt Patterns. I will do a random drawing on 6/6/10 and announce the winners.
Colorful and Energetic Smiles,
Kelly
I, too, am drawn to color saturation. I'd like a pattern because....well...just because!

ReplyDeleteNever heard of dupioni silks.....maybe I should look into it....great pattens......
ReplyDeleteYou're so right about the energy...the color along with the stunning designs just pop! I love the Antique Rug pattern. It looks like just the kind of quilt I could use lots of different fabric choices with. Lynne
ReplyDeleteI checked out the website and Aardvark Quilt designer Pam Goecke Dinndorf certainly has a talent for pattern making. Usually patterns are either colorful and interesting or the design is intricate. These patterns, however, combine both elements. There are Mod Square and Beveled Blocks patterns that look like they're 3-D! Amazing!! (And not too intricate that the patterns seems daunting.) thanks for pointing out this fabulous company, Kelly!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThe quilts are vivid and I like vivid quilts. Is that enough of an excuse?
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a color trip!!
ReplyDeleteBoth of the patterns offered would be a wonderful way to work up leftovers and make a scrappy quilt.
The Paperweight pattern looks intriguing...perhaps it includes a fun new way of sewing "curves" without work?!? I'd love to win that, and promise to email you a photo of my completed quilt using that pattern! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's obvious I'd love to make an Aardvark quilt or two. *S*

ReplyDeleteHi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteThose Aardvark Quilts are stunning! I would love to win one of the patterns -- both are great, but I have to tell you that I really, really, really like the first one -- it reminds me of the blown-glass baubles we see at Sauder's when we go there with the grandchildren.
See you next Thursday!

Don't know whether I am too late. I haven't been reading or blogging recently. Colours in the quilts and designs are beautiful. Please add my name, if possible. You seem to have had a wonderful time.
