Ok...so I'm catering to the Ozzies by posting so late (late for US...early for OZ :)....sorry...can't help it...McSteamy is still having issues and I couldn't get to my bot sooner.
Today's post includes a fun giveaway thanks to Jen Eskridge of Reanna Lily Designs, creator of the Seamingly Accurate Seam Guide.
This is Jen's booth at Quilt Market in Houston....Yes...she's the same gal who wrote the book, Deploy That Fabric....good memory!
Hi Jen :)
A booth only shot....
And of course....a photo of Jen's book in her booth :)
Jen gave me a few Seamingly Accurate Seam Guides so I could give them away on my blog....isn't she sweet? I think so :)
I do realize this template goes on a sewing machine and not on a table....however...the way my new machine is set up I could not put on on yet so I decided to let Jen show you how cool of a tool they are. Keep in mind I've felt them...used one...just not on my new machine...so I do know of what I speak :)
Great guide isn't it? I know...you want one don't ya? I don't blame you one bit...and to have a chance to receive one gratis....just be a IHAN blog follower and leave a comment on this post telling me why you want one...it's that easy.
I'll let the random number generator choose two winners on Sunday, December 18, 2011. Well...that is if I remember...I sometimes have a problem with that part....so I've had a doorbell installed on my forehead...ya'all can just push on the door bell and I'll be reminded of who I am and what in the heck I'm doin'!!!!
THANKS JEN!!! For the wonderful Seam Guides :)
Before I close I thought I'd share a photo with you that I took this morning.
Smiles,
Kelly
Ooooooh......a seam guide? Of course I'd love to win one. Can always use an accurate measure :-)
ReplyDeleteWould love this, not having to mark the fabric or have an ugly piece of tape on my machine would be great :)
ReplyDeleteI have an old Kenmore machine with "iffy" seam allowance guides. I'd love to try Jen's seam guide.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea - why didn't someone thing of it before. would love to wing one
ReplyDeleteI like this guide! I make a lot of aprons and it would be awesome to not have to pin every time I want to add trim. I am a follower so please add my name to the hat of people who want to win one!! thanks Kelly and thanks to Jen too!
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredibly simple but stunning idea!!! I am always wondering why machine manufacturers don't put more seam markings on the machine!!! I think I would just love one of those and if I don't win one I am going to buy one!!!
ReplyDeleteWould love to try one of these!!! I already follow!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of having this seam guide. It would be so use ful when you are trying to manovour quilts and big surface items.

Catering to those of us on the west coast too :) I would love to win the seam guide as I think it would improve my 1/4 inch seams. I am a follower.

What a great tool! Unfortunately it wouldn't work on my machine, I take off my arm and put my quilt table on - and then take it off and put the arm on. So don't enter me, but I do wish everyone else good luck!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic little gadget. So simple and easy to use. Love it.
ReplyDeleteEven with a quarter inch presser foot I still struggle to get my seams just right. I've never seen it before, but maybe this tool is the answer! Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteWhy do I want one? Any thing that might improve my seam accuracy is welcomed!
ReplyDeleteI need all the help I can get with accurate seams. And I am thinking this will stop me from having to move my needle all the time. Thanks for a chance....but I am convinced Mr. Random hates me LOL
ReplyDeleteBTW it was 70 degrees here yesterday...I am not sure I want to head your way for Christmas with weather like this.
This is one of those things where you say, 'why didn't I think of that?!' Lovely pic of the berries/branch. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great idea to try. Thanks for the chance to win it. Those berries would be covered in snow here today.
ReplyDeleteSince accurate seaming seems to be my downfall, I would love to win one of these guides. Thanks for all your good work!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower. I always wondered why the markings of the seam guides on my machine didn't go out further.. this is SEW COOOL!
ReplyDeleteGlad you found some joy. Such a peaceful shot. And yes, that would be an AWESOME thread painting/art quilt. I can soooooo see it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool tool! Best of all it doesn't take up too much space! :-)
I think this would be a great help to me!

Love your picture--it's what winter is all about! Would love to give the seam guide a try--to see if it would help straighten out my wobbly seams (perhaps it's just because I am so distractable).
ReplyDeleteThanks & Merry Christmas!
I hope that McSteamy is doing better soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks to Jen for the great demo of that wonderful tool! I definitely could use one of those to get more accuracy on my seams. Despite my best intentions, my seams are just not accurate. Her tool makes it look very easy to accomplish.
That photo is great! I think that it would make a beautiful thread painting.
I am a follower of your blog and I would love to stop placing the little tape pieces every time I switch from quilting to piecing. They do help me stay accurate and that is why I do it, but I think this would be much handier.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I NEED this! Can't make a consistent 1/4 inch seam to save my life!
ReplyDeleteAh yes. What is the 'measure' of a sewing tool? Imeasureable! Thank you! I'm a follower of your shop/blog.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh I could really use that. I have a stack of painter's tape and sticky notes on my machine trying to keep going straight. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower.

ReplyDeleteI forgot to copy my comment before deleting it. ;) This is an awesome tool and I'd love to win one to help my seam allowances be more accurate and more consistent! Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteJust had to add - I follow you via the quilterblogs.com RSS feed!
Ooooooh, if I had a real seam guider thingie I could get the marker off my machine..... pick me!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your ice-encased berries. Weird weather this week, eh? Still have my fingers crossed for a white Christmas!

ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant and just what I need! Thanks for the opportunity. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteNo matter what I do I can't get a straight quarter inch seam...which means trouble somewhere on the quilt! This would be so helpful. :) blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteWhat a great product. Love the opportunity of win. I follow your blog and always learn about new things.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you SO much for the video. I've seen these many times before but just seeing a picture and not having a lot of explanation about them, I wasn't sure exactly how they worked. This is wonderful and now I KNOW I need this product. It would be awesome to win one though but, it's still going onto my ever-growing wish list.
ReplyDeleteI would love one of these! It would really make trimming and hemming so easy.
ReplyDeleteHow great that would be to use with the HSTs! Thanks for sharing the video. Seeing exactly how they work is nice. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteHullo, I am a follower. Beautiful picture. I'd like one of those because I've absolutely no idea what my machine sews. (It makes the mistakes, not me, see?) That would be such a savor for quilting.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture...You've captured the moment and the light perfectly :o)
ReplyDeleteWould love to try out the new gadget. And thanks for the picture. Lovely Judy s.
