So how did I get past the tendonitis without losing my mind?
I did a jigsaw puzzle. I have started this a number of times…. but never got past getting some of the outside edges done before putting it back in the box. I generally keep a puzzle around for when I have to sit on my hands… and do nothing. The last time was when we were selling the house in Virginia.
This time I had enough time to complete this puzzle and I will be passing it on later in the year. I rarely ever do a puzzle less than a 1000 pieces, and this one was doubly difficult because the pieces were irregular, very irregular! And did not fit together as well as I would have liked.
After almost 10 days of rest I think I can go about my daily activities without restriction. But I will monitor for pain or swelling and find a new activity if I feel…. any discomfort.
Until Later! Beth
I haven’t done a jigsaw on the dining room table in years. Digital jigsaws, yes; real ones, no. Our most famous puzzle was quite a few years ago on New Year’s evening. I was sitting with my daughters working away happily. My husband was snoozing after a day of football on television. Our two dogs, then Shar-pies, decided to play chase. The chased into the dining room, skidded, and crashed right through the front windows. They weren’t hurt, and my husband slept on. Memorable jigsaw experience!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are doing better!
Thanks for stopping in today!!! Wow that was quite the Jigsaw Puzzle! Glad I didn't have the same excitement while doing mine. I have another 1000 piece one... but more traditional a mountain scene. Hope I get to wait awhile before doing it!

My favorite puzzle was a round one, with jagged outside edges, of the jungle, with 5 extra pieces! Some if the pieces were oddly shaped too. I think there was a tiger, a monkey, a bird, and I don't remember what else. Came from WWF or Smithsonian or something like that. As I recall, I only had it because I was laid up with a botched foot surgery.
ReplyDeleteThey usually have one out and started in the waiting area of our RV repair facility. One time, we were there so very long I finished it up, and it has only just been started. The more I worked on it, the madder I got! (because we had appt, and we were supposed to be in and out with a quick fix)
Glad to see you are on the mend! Be back to sewing in no time flat, right?
KC... I remember those round puzzles too. They are a good way to pass the time if you like doing them. The repair place might have annoyed me too... and yes back to sewing and catching up!

I started doing puzzles while in quarantine with my young daughters as they took turns having chickenpox! As soon as one could go back to school, the other one came down with a worse case! Six weeks of staying home. Lots of puzzle making!
ReplyDeleteClaudi.... I'm not sure I would do one again after that!!! Makes you hope that many families have puzzles this flu season and they are staying home and putting them together.

Keep taking it easy, as you 'ease' back into things.
ReplyDeleteThanks!!! Back on track and in much better shape. Fortunately it was aggravated by doing a vacuum job, that I won't be doing again!!!!
