Homeward Bound

As my aunt would say, we are going home to celebrate Nanny's birthday into heaven.  Shirley Jackson, Rick's grandmother, passed away yesterday and we are headed to Wyalusing today.  If you are a regular reader you'll remember the photos of Nanny's 100th Birthday party back in February.

I guarantee one of the things that will be said over and over again this weekend, "I can't remember Nanny ever saying a negative thing about another person."  In the last 12 years I've never heard one....can you imagine?  Most of us couldn't make it through one day.  (I'm certain this won't be said at my memorial...too late for that now..progress not perfection, right?)

I'll do my best to reply to e-mails and comments while away but if ya don't hear from me and you need to talk, you can always call.)

Smiles,
Kelly

  6. Anyone who'd wear dealy-boppers like that had to be the life of the party - any party. I know she'll be missed. Travel safe!

  11. ((((((((Kelly)))))) I hope this is a wonderful celebration of her life, through your tears - what a wonderful thing to say about someone - my grandma was like that, a lot of people said it at her funeral. She never had anything but good things to say about everyone. Sending you some cyber-hugs, dear Kelly.

  17. Yes, I do remember her 100th birthday party, and I'm so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful and well loved family member. But I'm certain that she's dancing at the party to welcome her in Heaven, and filled with joy. Progress not perfection is good indeed, as we're all pretty much on that journey. Have a safe trip, and a good visit with your family, as you remember and celebrate your Nanny's new birthday.
