Being Prepared Makes ALL the Difference :)

It is so important to be prepared and I had planned for almost everything........

I was not prepared for Lady Eleanor to greet me in pre-op.....I.m the luckiest person earth!!!!
It was my understanding that the doctor was planning on putting some screws in my hand and all I need is more loose screws....so I opted for a few "Embellished Wonderments" instead :)

Trust Issues? Who me?

Just in case, I brought everything I thought the doctor might need:
  • excellent scissors
  • micro-fine tweezers
  • excellent thread
  • air erasable marking pen
  • instruction manual - just in case
  • last but definitely not least .... my Beam N Read - just in case the lights go out

It took some convincing, but the doctor understood that I wasn't taking NO for an answer... giggles.
The doctor refused my Air Erasable Sewline Marker and used this wimpy pen instead. Can you believe the nerve of him?
I bet his is not air erasable!
Mr. McSteamy was there by my side and then the lights went out......

I won the argument with the doctor. No loose screws.... just "Embellished Wonderments" holding those bones together.

Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers. I have read all of them but my sister refuses to answer them while I dictate....go figure!!!!

Smiles,
Kelly

  5. Just heard you'd broken your hand and then had to have major surgery to fix it. Yikes!! I feel so badly for you but...I read this blog entry and see your smiling face with Mr. McSteamy and I'm thinking...this lady is way too happy and looks too well to be having all these problems! Just kidding; but you do look toooo well. Let's see some dark circles under those eyes; perhaps a band-aid on your cheek (from where dr. dropped the scapel); couldn't your hair be just a bit more stringy and rumpled? Really, you take care. I'm keeping you in my prayers.

  14. Whew! What a trip this has been for you! I am happy to see McSteamy there with you. There is nothing more comforting than someone who you love and who loves you. And as for healing, you are providing your own humour (I put the British "u" in there on purpose!) It was supposed to be funny...so laugh politely, okay? Or if you saw the Michael Yon picture of Queen Elizabeth II on Facebook and read that, then maybe you DID laugh for real.
Take care of yourself and keep smiling!

  17. Ok, lets get this out of the way first... Oh!...Kelly, get well soon! Now. OMG!...you are so funny and I'm laughing out loud for real of the pic of that Doc. What a perfect look of shock. You gotta know nobody goes into surgery with a camera in their good hand!...let alone all those creative during and after surger accessories. A whole new meaning to "a girl's got to accessorize"!!!

  18. Oh, I forgot......what do you mean you sister won't take dictation! Hmph!

  33. Ow Ow Ow. Here is hoping you mend fast and with little pain.. the pain of not being able to "craft" will probably be harder to take than the pain of the break.
