Win a Fons & Porter Class from Daily Craft TV

Fons & Porter, Daily Craft TV,  have generously offered one IHAN® Blog Reader an opportunity to take "String Piecing 7 Ways."  Daily Craft TV offers classes in Sewing, Quilting, Crochet, Knitting, Scrapbooking and Paper Crafting.
If you click HERE you will be able to see the preview for the class.

The instructors for this class are Jodie Davis and Ashley Briggs.  Some of the things you will learn are:

How to make sever different blocks for seven different quilts including a star, diamond star, strip quilt and more.
Learn how to string piece applique shapes.
Use up your scrap or new fabric , even strip jelly rolls on foundation or without
You will also be able to download, Island Campfire Pattern at no charge.

In order to qualify to win this class you must leave a comment on this post telling the world why you would like to take this class.  If you are a class junkie and don't want to admit it, you can also leave a fun joke for the rest of us :)

The drawing will be done by random number generator and a winner will be chosen on Monday, September 9, 2013.

I definitely think I'm a candidate for a Crochet class.  Below is a photo of my attempt at learning to crochet and make a wash cloth.
How sad is that?  To me it looks like one of those dresses people up on their dish soap bottles.  I was "trying" to make a dishcloth.  Oh well...practice, practice, practice....LOL.

Smiles,
Kelly

  3. Well, I am not a class junkie but think that one might give me a much needed boost toward the sewing machine.

  5. I would love to win this class--I love to make scrappy quilts, and string quilting is a very good way to use up those scraps. Hope I win. Thanks for the opportunity!!

  6. Yeah, I'm probably classified as a class junkie. Seems like I'm always sorry if I miss a class or workshop, so I try and sign up for them all!

You're getting there on your washcloth! Looks like you might be missing the last stitch in each row (it can be hard to see)...that's why the piece is tapered. I bet you could still wash dishes with it though! Keep practicing!

  7. I'd love to take this class because I have a bunch of string pieces laying around and don't know what to do with them!

  11. Finish this one as one of those dollies dresses and start a new one! Looks to me as if you have been diminishing stitches without realizing... All will come with practice! (mind you, I sound as if I can crotched really well, I can't lol!!)

thanks for the chance to win this class. Have lots of scraps so it would be great to do a string quilt!

  14. I would love to win this. I've been saving strings lately, knowing they could be used, but not really knowing how. Figured I'd learn when I collected enough...

  15. Your crochet attempt just cracked me up. It looks a lot better than mine. Made my first (and last) afghan and it has so many different rows that go in and out and in and out and are longer or shorter than others. But I kept it and it keeps me warm in the winter. It was supposed to be just one stitch done over and over and over. I can knit pretty well but not crochet which is a shame since my mom and grandmother both were excellent in this - with thread no less. Thanks for sharing.

  23. String piecing is so much fun! I'd love to view their "take" on it. I have quilt blocks pieced using this method that my Mother started when I was a teen, and you know how long ago that was! I must finish it. It's one of my many UFO's. I'd love to try a batik using one of the new methods.
