IHAN's 30 Days of Giveaways
Anniversary Celebration
Day 24
It's A Wrap II
by Susan Breier
from Martingale and Company
I recently wrote a post about Susan's new book, It's A Wrap II. Guess what? Martingale and Company is giving one lucky IHAN blog reader a copy of Susan's new book. This is so exciting.
It's A Wrap II shows Susan's easy method of how to wrap clothesline with fabric to make bowls, as well as make exciting new shapes, handles, lids and totes. This book contains 20 new designs with excellent instructions and photos. This book goes beyond the basics, such as ideas on how to enhance fabrics with paint. Susan shows you how to make circle baskets, triangle baskets, square baskets, heart shaped baskets, and more. There are some cool ideas about embellishing these projects too.

I believe I would make a bowl for my husbands dresser in a pretty green, to catch his keys and not make so much noise as a metal tray does.
ReplyDeleteI have been drooling over this book since I first saw it when a friend and I were on a shop hop! I would make some large baskets for my sister and my mother.
ReplyDeleteDid I read something about a tote? I would love to make a tote.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to try this technique.
ReplyDeleteI think my first project would be a Halloween candy bowl. I have a bunch of Halloween fabric that needs to become something.
ReplyDeleteI actually made a simple small bowl using this technique but never knew I could make so much more. Think I'd have to try a purse- they look just too fun!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, this looks like such fun! I love the first bowl (teal, rust, purple) - the shape really shouts out to me. However, if I were to win I would probably look for a smaller size. The last time we moved our key basket just gave up - too many moves, too many packers not being careful. After 16 years and nine moves, it was just too much for that little thing (sniffle). I'd love to try and remake it with the same color scheme.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Kiy

ReplyDeleteI would love to try that cute little brown purse!
ReplyDeleteI would like to make one of the covered bowls - they look so great.
ReplyDeleteI have been drooling over this book and would love to win it!! I would definately start with a bowl... one to set on my quilted runner on my table!!

What a fun thing you are doing -- the bowls look like great fun.

ReplyDeleteOh yes, I would love to be included in the AccuQuilt Go giveaway! Would be great on my elbow!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there was a second book, I was drawn to the purse because of the color scheme and because it's so textural. I can also see a reproduction scrappy basket for summer fruit or I'd like to try something different like a napkin holder. Neat prize, the book is now on my extra long "Want" list.
ReplyDeleteI loved what I saw in this second book and want to try some of the projects.
ReplyDeleteI think I would make a square basket....I have the first book and just love it!
ReplyDeleteOne of the bags would be first, probably the shoulder bag. After that, the oblong bowl, and then...
ReplyDeleteI would make a bowl in browns, blacks and whites and add a moose applique to match in my camper!
ReplyDeleteI am inspired by all of the bags, so I would make myself a bag.
ReplyDeleteMicki
I'll make a bag because I'm a bag-aholic!
ReplyDeleteI have a length of clothesline sitting on my sewing table for months already. I tried to look at some of the online tutorials but I'll bet this book is what I need. I like the look of the bowls, so would probably start with one of those.
ReplyDeleteI would definitly make the purse/bag. Love to know how with that book.
ReplyDeleteI would love, love, love to make a bowl for my table.
ReplyDeleteI love the organic-ness of the It's a Wrap creations. I imagine a great tote basket for wool roving, drop spindles and spinning tools, maybe a lid with lavender to chase away moths.
