IHAN's 30 Days of Giveaways
Anniversary Celebration
Day 25
A Beautiful Scissor Fob
by Simply Tracy
Don't you just love this scissor fob? You better say, YES, and loudly too!!! :) Know why? It was made by my incredibly talented sister, Tracy. After showing her some of my favorites scissor fobs (scissor porn embellishments..lol) she made a few and gave them to me for my recent birthday. I begged her to make some to sell on my website and she has. The problem is getting her photos to the correct size to put on my website. It has been difficult for me to get all of this accomplished while being out of town.
Tracy has been very helpful in getting IHAN organized and doing some behind the scenes work and I SOOOO APPRECIATE her help. She does this for the same price I pay all my other co-workers....nothing!! Tracy is my number one fan and has always been behind me no matter what I've done. She has been unemployed (she lives in MI) for over a year and after spending long days looking for work she always seems to have time left to either do my dishes, cook, or look after my co-workers. I'm very blessed indeed!!!
Tracy's first request was to be able to participate in the IHAN 30 Days of Giveaways. Who could say no? Not me? Definitely not you, right?!!! So here it is, a beautiful scissor fob to be shipped to the address of the winners choice. If you would like to have a chance to win, all you need to do is leave an encouraging comment for Tracy. Her expertise has been as an Administrative Assistant in the Financial Industry. If you know of anyone or any firm that could possibly employ her, please e-mail IHaveANotion@yahoo.com with Tracy in the Subject Line. Until she finds a job where the title is other than "Girl 2-4-7" as she now calls herself , please consider buying a Scissor Fob made by Simply Tracy coming soon to the IHAN website.
Smiles,
Kelly
I would love to win one of Tracy's scissor fobs.

I would love to win one of Tracy's scissors fobs.
ReplyDeleteTracy, my recommendation re: job search. Try to switch industries as Financial Services sector has too many layoffs and outsourcing. I was once in that sector too, and had to switch. Suggestion: Look at medical billing services as an alternate sector as there are many similarities: accuracy, confidentiality of information, high transaction volume, etc. All the Admins who once worked for me were really good with their computer skills, efficient, and could juggle lots of projects at once. Those are valuable skills regardless of the industry. Good luck!
I can so empathize with your sister! I too live in MI and have been trying to find a job for over a year and now my Husband just got laid off. On a positive note, she does have more time for crafting and and obviously the talent to do it!
ReplyDeleteSimply Tracy - Your scissor fob looks Simply Great. Maybe one of those would help me find my scissors under piles of fabric. Good luck on your job search. Kathie L in Allentown
ReplyDeleteTracey sounds like she is talented in many ways. Her scissor fob is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine how difficult it is to be out of a job and trying to find one - especially in MI. Wishing her the best in her search.
I would love to win Tracy's scissor fob, it's beautiful! She may be unemployed but she certainly is talented!
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me that Tracy is a very talented young lady and maybe she should go the route you have. Nothing here in Amerika Samoa, not unless she wants to come and get away from it all.
ReplyDeleteHang in there Tracy. A new door will open for you! When I was in your shoes, I approached looking for work as a full-time job. One of the most valuable tools was the local library. Research into jobs using similar skill sets, redefining my interests and abilities and checking into educational possibilities. Of course, spending time with family and friends and making scissor fobs is essential, too. :)
ReplyDeleteTracy - love your scissors fob. I'll bet you could make other things too - bookmarks & ankle bracelets would be very marketable. Good luck to you.
ReplyDeleteSending positive thoughts from Canada for you, Tracy. This too shall pass, hoping this shout out from your sister brings great opportunities for you.
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable! Maybe it'll help me from losing my scissors so often. I'm going to have to pass this along to other quilters I know.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, Tracy. One door doesn't close without a window being opened... I know that this is true! Your scissors fob is beautiful, I would treasure this one. Sending lots and lots of positive thoughts your way!
ReplyDeleteHaving computer trouble and trying to post this for the THIRD time. My heart goes out to Tracy....too many people having similar problems...seems all families know someone who has lost a job or had their hours drastically cut. Let's hope that upcoming months show an improvement and Tracy finds a job that is just right for her! Love the scissors fob and would be happy to have one like it!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this beautiful scissor decor. Tracy hang in there; your door will open. (Maybe it already is? Scissor fobs can lead to other creative ventures)
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! I would love to win!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful fob like this would make it easier to keep an unrelenting eye on my scissors!
ReplyDeletePlease include me!
What a beautiful fob. Your sister is very talented and has a very creative eye. I hope she will be able to find employment soon.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry I can't help with a job, it is so hard out there. But I would love a scissor fob. I have been eying them forever and the example you have is just gorgeous.

Tracey,
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the kindness generosity you bring to this world, and your help for Kelly in her big 30 day celebration! And for you giving away your beautiful scissor fob. It is lovely. And I'm really excited to hear you'll be selling those via IHAN soon. I think they'd be great to distinguish my scissors at sew-cials and they'd also make great gifts!
I hope you find a job soon. You are very talented, so I know any company would be very lucky to have you on their team!

I would love to win one of Tracys' scissor fobs and my advice to her is to keep trying, looking and not to take no for an answer. There is a job waiting out there with her name on it. I will say a prayer for her.
ReplyDeleteDon't give up Tracy! You are obviously a very smart and talented woman who no doubt has many transferable skills from work, school, crafts, home life, whatever it is that you spend your days doing. Don't overlook them when applying for jobs.
ReplyDeleteYour scissor fob is just beautiful and I'd sure love to win one!

That is a beautiful fob! Tracy is not lacking in talent! I sure hope something good comes her way soon. Thanks Tracy for making such a gorgeous fob! Sharonj
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful fob!! Tracy, you are very talented...working with numbers AND beads, and not just on an abacus :-). Sometimes, a couple of classes at your local college is just enough to give you an edge over other applicants in the job search.
ReplyDeleteLove it! It's so unique. I wish I knew someone hiring in her field. I'll keep my ears open though.
ReplyDeleteI love this scissor fob. Tracy, you are a very creative person! What a special bond you two sister's have. I have one with my sister, too, and we are best friends.
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best of luck in finding a job in the next few months!
Tracy, do NOT give up in your job hunt! It'll come along. Love your scissor fob!
ReplyDeleteHi Tracy, and best of luck... be flexible and don't give up!
ReplyDeleteKate
Tracy, your fob is beautiful! As for the job........I live in MI and it is tough here. My son and family moved from here to Colorado in Oct '09 with the promise of a job that petered out. He is now in Florida with his family.....still jobless in a state that is in as bad a shape as MI. My daughter's MIL moved to MI last year from Indianapolis and just recently got a job at Sears.....not in her field but a job none the less. The only advice I can give......and you may already be doing this.....is to humble yourself and take any job that presents itself. I have always heard that it's easier to get a job if you have a job and it seems to be true as my daughters MIL has job interviews and offers popping up right and left now that she has a job. Good luck in your search and I pray that God blesses you and your husband with jobs.

I do not own a scissor fob and am almost embarased to admit that I had not seen them until someone in our Guild got some at the Lancaster Quilt Show.

ReplyDeleteTracy is one talented lady. This fob is adorable. I hope I win. So sorry to hear about the job situation ~ that really sucks!

Carolyn
Tracy is sure a creative woman! Would love to win the scissor bob! Sorry I don't know anyone in the financial industry. Hope she has some luck soon!
ReplyDeleteThe fob is wonderful and I'd love to have one!
ReplyDeleteGreat job and beautiful design Tracy!
ReplyDeleteMy advice is to keep looking and applying for any jobs she finds available. Maybe she might want to look over her resume and see if there is any place she might update it or add other talents. Have someone working in the financial industry as they might have hints for her. Look for jobs in other fields that she feels qualified for too.
ReplyDeleteI think she should branch out and find other venues for her fobs, they are so cute and I would love to win won.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Tracy for the opportunity to win the great scissors fob! You do beautiful work! Just keep hangin' in there, and try not to get discouraged as you wait for that "just right" job to come along!
ReplyDeletemybusyhands@gmail.com

ReplyDeleteI bowed to husband's request that I not work after he retired. It's not working for me or our rapidly dwindling savings. Job hunting in this area is so slow...

Tracy: The economy is slowly, very slowly, improving. I have been umemployed a couple of times in my life and both times I got jobs I love by working for a temp agency. Good luck to you. You are obviously a talented crafter because your fob is nicely done. Thanks for the chance to win it.
ReplyDeleteTracy, this fob is fob-ulous, dahling!
ReplyDeleteAfter a quilt retreat last weekend, I realize I need to mark my gear. I was thinking sharpie but your scissor bling rocks!! (yes, I just made 'scissor bling' up, but hey, it works, right??)

Love the scissors FOB. Tracy keep on looking for the right job, don't give up and don't settle, wait on the right one :)
ReplyDeleteHUgs,
TerryM
Lovely scissor fob. Good luck with the job hunting Tracy!
ReplyDeleteYou are a sweet sister, and I'm sure Tracy appreciates the love and support you give and knows that not everyone has that shoulder to lean on - especially one complete with dishes and cooking! It's important to feel needed and it sounds like she does. Being an Admin. is my former field and it's important to sell your skills at an interview including how you "get a lot of personal satisfaction and enjoyment" out of organizing and multi-tasking in any environment. It's important for them to know she's not only good at it, but likes it too. I would be honored to win her Scissor Fob.
ReplyDeleteyour scissor fobs are awesome...Tracy I wish you all the luck in your job search....keep the faith!
ReplyDeleteTracy,
ReplyDeleteI love your scissor fob. Very pretty and the little scissor charm on the end just sets it off. I knit too and knitters are always looking for stitch markers so you might want to ponder that too. Good luck in your new business.
Absolutely lovely prize. Tracy sounds like a lovely creative person. Tell her to think outside the box while looking for potential employers. I found some of my best jobs that way!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
And thank you for all these giveaway.
There has to be a long list of transferable skills that Tracy has developed in her former employment. If she hasn't already, she needs to examine them from every angle...including group analysis with a variety of supportive types included. Kind of a cliche, I realize. Wish I could just wave a magic wand for her! Is relocation out of the question?
ReplyDeleteI love Tracy's scissor fob ...I guess talent runs in the family!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Tracy, you totally rock as sisters go! Sorry you've been searching for a job for so long. As I live on the other side of the country and am a SAHM mom, I don't have any leads for you, but I"m sending out positive energy in your direction. Hope you find something (and a terrific something at that) soon! Your scissor fobs are fantastic and if I don't win, I'll definitely be shopping for one soon. Thanks for a terrific giveaway! Crossing my fingers!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win one of the scissor fobs!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
Micki
I'm the 86 person interested to win Tracy's fob, it's so cute, I love it, please keep doing it, and don't even try to give up, you rock girl!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have one of Tracy's scissor fobs and I certainly wish her the best in finding her job. Companies cannot run without Administrative Assistants because they do most of the work. Behind every successful executive is a Administrative Assistant, I was one for 30 years.
ReplyDeleteYES (loudly)! These are beautiful, Tracy. Isn't it fun to create? You sound like a doer, not just a talker. Your best chapter is ahead of you - something you can be passionate about!
ReplyDeleteSimply thanks for sharing Day 25!
Tracy, you rock - beautiful bling. You are in my prayers to find the perfect "job".
ReplyDeleteHow sweet is this!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful.
