Oh how this brain loves fireworks......

I'll leave you with one of my favorite 4th of July stories.....a few years ago when Aaron was probably just 3 we went to the fireworks here in town....sat on top of the big hill behind the elementary school with lots of other families......and when the grand finale ended.....there was complete silence.....Aaron jumps up and screams as loudly has he could...."Happy Birthday Jesus"
I almost rolled down that big hill laughing.  All he knew was this was one really big event and for it to be this big it must be someones  birthday.....I'll never for get it.

May you be with those you enjoy the most and appreciating the things you love today.

Smiles,
Kelly

  3. Kelly ~~ I LOVE your story!!! How precious is the innocence of children, and as The Lord said we are to come to Him as little children. They know, they know, they know!

I was at a Weight Watchers meeting this past week, and my grand daughter, 8, was there with her mom. The teacher was trying to get a point across, and thought to ask "Precious" about what this Sunday was ... meaning 4th of July. She walked over and asked ... "so what is this Sunday?" ... Precious looks up with those beautiful green eyes and says "church!" Made MY day... and the whole room started clapping cause you just don't get to see that out of kids these days! Made this G'ma very proud!

Happy Birthday Jesus, indeed! I will be thinking that this evening as we watch fireworks with our church family... may you have a BLESSED day !

  11. Hi Kelly and thanks for sharing the story. My six year old did a similar thing. We had been invited to a choral thing the night before Christmas and as we were leaving the minister asked my daughter what Father Christmas was bringing her tomorrow. She looked quizzically at him and then said, "But it is Jesus' birthday". The minister was taken aback, but we thought it was great. Love to read your blog, all the way over here in Albany, Western Australia. Sam (Sandra)
