Hold On To Your Stuffing

Yep, you heard me right....Hang On To Your Stuffing!!!

Why?  Because over the past few months I've been cleaning out and giving things away.  Yep....and I recall giving a gal an entire bag of poly-fil  because I reasoned....I have two bags....that's enough.

Wait until you see how small this owl really is.  I made this recently to give to my Niece, Lola, who will be turning 1 on the 17th.  I got her a few outfits and wanted to enclose something I made.  I thought this little owl would be cute for a 1 year old.  I pre-washed the fabrics in the event she put it into her mouth right away.  I avoided buttons because they are choking hazards.  So I was thinking I've thought of everything....all is well..... I was cruising right along....until I had to turn this little owl inside out....talk about recalling child birth.....I really should have left a larger opening!!!  lol
I even remembered to embroidery a little note to Lola...Love, JoJo.  Do you want to know how much stuffing it took to stuff this little owl?
Now you can see the scale...this is one small owl....yet it took tons and tons and tons of poly-fil to stuff this baby....so I'm just telling ya....hang on to your stuffing!

Smiles,
Kelly

  1. Your owl is too cute. And yes, I know it takes lots and lots of stuffing to make crafty things look good and right.

  3. Adorable little owl!!! Isn't is amazing how huge those bags of stuffing look and how it quickly disappears inside one small project?

  5. I'm a firm believer in hanging onto anything you might possibly have a use for -- stuffing, batting, thread, muslin... Sharing with a friend who need some is one thing, but I don't get rid of stuff just to get rid of it.

  7. Hi Kelly Sweetie...
Oh how gorgeous is this beautiful gift of love. You can say, "Who, who loves you?" My Momma and I send each other owl gifts back and forth and use this phrase.

Your niece is going to love it, and she can hold it and chew and love on it. Love the color choices, they so match her little gifts, and I love, LOVE the eyes. Also the little touch of a heart and Love on the back. A beautiful creation dear one. Thank you so much for sharing with me this afternoon.

Country hugs and much love, Sherry

  9. What a cute little owl! Yes, polyfil seems to just "melt" when you pack it in!

  10. How ADORABLE, Kelly! And how true - the last bag I gave away, I needed it not long after, lol. But that's ok...the person I gave it to needed it more!

  15. Love the owl. That frog ballerina really is "tutu cute". I made my 6 foot tall grandson a body pillow last year. Took one look at the price of stuffing, and ended up with one bag for the corners, and 3 bed size pillows to fill it!
