Just Another Button Company's New Pin Keeps - My Oh My

Yes, I am a self proclaimed pin keep nut....I absolutely love them and I have to say I went "ga-ga" at Quilt Market for Just Another Button Company's (JABC) new Pin Keeps.

I felt bonded to each and every one of them....really....tell me you could resist...just go ahead and try.
Then there was the Peppermint King Fairy Spoolkeep....I felt like they were chocolates...who could stop at just one?  Clearly not me....I had to have all of's true.

JABC has come out with kits that include everything you need to make all these wonderful Pin Keeps and Cushions....I feel like a MONGER....I want them ALL!!! ( Evil wicked laughter)

I better clean up my act before ole St. Nick comes along :)

I'd have a very hard time putting a pin in Santa....but I bet I could put some Just Pins to embellish him.

Looking at such  wonderments can cause strong feelings of want and desire...for the cutest things ever.

Cecile McPeak, owner of JABC, gave a Schoolhouse lecture at Quilt  Market.  I think she was very lucky to get through the entire presentation without me having a wonderment attack and grabbing every last thing she brought with her.

Hold on to your comes the rest of the amazing photos I took in Houston.....forewarned is forearmed :)

You can find some of the Halloween Spoolkeeps HERE...I think they should be called Spook-Keeps....not that anyone asked.

More Spookiers!
Prepare yourself for the Precious-est Keeps EVER!

Yes....I have Mr. Frog too....I told you I lost control....but not total control :)

Pin Pin Panda ....oh my word....I'm getting weaker and weaker....
feeling faint actually.  (kidding of course)

I was fortunate enough to receive a pattern for Eugenia Tuffet and a JABC US button for her US travels.  You can take your Eugenia Tuffet with you on your travels and upload the photos to Eugenia's Facebook's true and I'm not kidding.
How fun is that?

Yes....I'm going to share it with one lucky IHAN® Blog if you would like to win the Eugenia Tuffet Pincushion pattern just leave a comment on this blog post and tell us what type of adventures you would have with Ms. Eugenia Tuffet.  The winner will be drawn by random and announced on Friday.

Spring Quilt Market 2010 - Fresh Cut Quilts Pattern Co.

I know, I know, I'm leaving for Houston a week from tomorrow and I'm still posting about Spring Quilt Market.  I've got to clear out my files to make room for new Fall Market Reviews.

I remember meeting Kari Ramsay from the Fresh Cut Quilts Pattern Company.  She was full of energy and excitement and her booth really radiated that great  energy.  Funny how photos take me right back to the moment and I can recall almost everything that we said and how great I felt being in Kari's presence.  She had just got the fabric cards for her fabric line with Henry Glass called Tidbits to go along with her new book, TidBits from Triangles.  (click on Henry Glass link and on the sidebar click on Kari Ramsay /Tidbits to see the fabrics up close)

Kari's booth just emanated fun energy.  I loved the re-assignment given to the old records, very cool idea.
As you can see Kari has many patterns she has designed.  I only wish I could have that sort of creative freedom in my mind.  What a gift, don't you think?
This quilt was more beautiful in person than in this photo.  I'd love to have a fun quilt just like that one ....guess I better get busy....I mean busier!!!
Jolly Stockings is a block of the month pattern that comes complete with full size templates.  This has to be the most fun Christmas Quilt Pattern I've ever seen.  It is playful but not too whimsical....(oh geez...guess I better take some classes in description for is like describing a fine wine....I have no clue...just using my own verbiage here!)
This is the quilt on the front cover of TidBits from Triangles.  So often we buy the pre-cut fabrics because they are pretty and fun but then we put them on our shelves to look at.  Kari's patterns make it easy/easier to use up your pre-cuts because they use Fat Quarters, 10" Layer Cake Squares, 5" Charm Squares and 6" Squares or Tunovers.  Now that should certainly give you some more reasons to open them up and actually make something with them.  After all......that is what it's for....sewing with!  LOL....I think we are all a little guilty of not wanting to cut or use our favorite fabrics.  I have to turn myself in and say that I've decided to use my fabrics no matter how beautiful.....because that is why I bought them....not to collect or admire them....but to actually make something I can enjoy.  Geez...I'm sooo guilty here.
You know this jumped off the table and into my eyes.  My love of pin keeps would not permit me to avoid this fun creation.  And with a closer look....guess what else was there to adorn that precious pin keep?
YUP, sure enough....those embellished wonderments, Just Pins, made by Just Another Button Company.  Well that is all it takes to get my attention.  Did I mention there was a long line of millionaire men, nude, with "we love IHAN" signs standing all over the place....I never noticed them until someone pointed them out....why?  Because I could not take my eyes off pin keeps and embellished wonderments!!! (slight exaggeration)
This is Kari holding her new (was then!!) book and she autographed it....and you know what that means don't you?  Yes indeed, to be given away here on the IHAN blog.  So if you would like to be the lucky new owner of TidBits from Triangles all you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me why you want the book.  I have not decided yet weather to use the random number generator....or to choose a comment myself.....I guess I'll just wait and decide later.....I guess it can be a blog writers prerogative to not decide!!!

If you are not sure if you are a no-reply blogger, leave your e-mail address otherwise I won't know how to tell you that you won!

Just Another Button Company at Spring Quilt Market 2010

I'm still going working on Spring Quilt Market Posts and I'm in the middle of booking my trip for Fall Quilt Market in Houston.  Either I have to find a better way to automate my Market posts or I need to take fewer photos!!

This is Cecile McPeak from Just Another Button Company.  I love the button and pins from JABC because they are so fun and playful.

Look at this scrap catch and pincushion.  Now, how can you not smile when looking at this little fella.  See....I didn't think you either.
Then for your winter  stitching....another scrap keep and pincushion.

How about this bird pincushion?  Now how can you not want one of these?  I don't care how many pincushions I own, I still want this pincushion.  Do you think I should seek help with my pincushion hording  issues?  Me either....don't turn me into the hording police and I won't turn you in....we can remain co-conspirators in the underworld of the hording community :)

These fun patterns can be found in Sew Necessary by Art To Heart.  The buttons and pins that coordinate with these fun projects are made by Just Another Button Company

The "Just Pins" from JABC are affectionately referred to as "Spanky Embellished Wonderments" by IHAN.  They are just too much fun to be called "Just Pins" least in my mind.

These are pincushion kits from Just Another Button Company.  Can you imagine getting one of these as a gift or better yet, giving one as a gift?  They sure are a pick-me-up and smile maker for sure.

These are new this year, Just Clips.  These are my favorite here....look at those little pea faces.

Isn't this button bracelet great?  JABC has kits to make your own bracelets as well!!

Here is a photo of a few more of the bracelets.
I'm not sure who the gal on the left is but that is Cecile on the right.   Every time I think about her she sends me an e-mail or a letter.  Telepathic communications seem to keep occurring.  Recently I was thinking about Rachel, Cecile's daughter.  Just as I was asking about her Cecile told me that Rachel had just put a package in the mail to me.  Isn't that just so strange how that happens with some people?

My next post will be about Rachel and her new adventure!!!  Stay tuned :)

If you would like to be the lucky owner of the Orange Lemonade Just Pins from Just Another Button Company than leave me a comment on this post.  What fun place you plan on using your Just Pins.?
I will draw a winner on Tuesday night.

By the way, IHAN only has the Just Pins line and some of the JABC buttons.  If you are interested in the pin  cushion kits, Just Clips or bracelet kits please e-mail me at and I will get them for you.

Needle Felting Beginners Class with the Needle Arts Guild of Toledo

It has been several days now since I went to this Beginners Needle Felting Class at our Needle Arts Guild of Toledo meeting.  Caren Scarbrough, our past Guild President, gave us a beginners lesson on Needle Felting.  I had exactly zero experience with Needle Felting prior to this class.  All I have to say is it was fascinating

The piece above and this incredible gentleman were made by Kay Griffith.  All I can say about her Needle Art Skills is                     .  Her work leaves me speechless every time.  There are always those experienced Guild Members that have seem to turn every piece of work into a breath taking object of art.  She is one of those in my eyes.  Not to say there are not many more....but today, I'm talking about Miss Kay :)

Kay stitched and felted every part of this gentleman.  Isn't it incredible?  I bet I could visit her house and spend the entire time taking photos and never wanting to leave.

Caren brought her Baby Lock Felting Machine.  I did not even know such a machine existed.  It has 7 needles and no thread.  It just felts and wow it is a fast and wonderful machine.

This is a close up of the felting process.  It is much like free motion quilting.

These are some samples of other felted pieces.

Our beginners lesson was about making this birds nest.  We started out with a felting needle and a piece of Styrofoam.  We just poked and poked and turned and poked until it became the shape of an egg.  I think it was a great beginners project.  I'm going to use mine as a pin cushion.
And I'm going to put these "Just Pins - Around the Block" in the pin cushion.  Won't that be so fun?  I think it will.  Another reason to smile.  By the way.....I'm always open for another reason to smile!!
