Such terrible news to wake up to. I'm so very sad for the people of Haiti. So, the next question is....what can we do? Any suggestions?
No smiles today,
Kelly

My sister says her husband is on stand-by to go there. He is military and wants to go. Lots of prayers!
ReplyDeleteThat is so very very sad.....I don't have a clue?
ReplyDeleteI think the situation is still so chaotic that right now no one is in charge and no one even knows what they need other than rescue and water. It is so horrible. I am not an organizer and have no contacts, but would be happy to be a worker bee on some sort of quilter's effort that would help these poor folks. I am sure plenty of others feel the same way.
ReplyDeletePresident Clinton said that what they really need immediately is more money ... we should call the hotlines/Red Cross people in our regions and donate as little as $5.00 us dollars; In the long run, we shall do what we always do. Gather clothes, quilts, and food; especially WATER! and rush it to our local gatherer who will get all the things onto the plane bound to Haiti. May God bless them.
ReplyDeleteI will pray for them, Kelly.

I have sent my donation. Perhaps later we will have a chance to send care packages, as well.
ReplyDeleteI think that the best thing to do RIGHT NOW is to send money to the Red Cross or Salvation Army or Doctors Without Borders.
ReplyDeleteThe Canadian government has promised to match every dollar donated to the Haiti Earthquake Relief Effort.
