Day 17 of 30 Day Giveaway- Dupioni Silk from Brewer Quilting and Sewing Supplies

IHAN's Day 17 of the
30 Days of Giveaways
Anniversary Celebration

Here in Ohio....Sapphire Sea Silk Collection makes me think.......
.......ahhhhhhh Kokomo

Aruba, Jamaica ooh I wanna take ya

To Bermuda, Bahama come on pretty mama
Key Largo, Montego baby why don't we go
Jamaica
off the Florida Keys
There's a place called Kokomo
That's where you wanna go to get away from it all

The luxury of silk and the beauty of the sea....together....now that is what I call a dream come true :)  The best part is you don't have to put on a bathing suit to enjoy this Sapphire Sea.....and the crowd goes wild!!!  LOL

Blue Underground Studios have the a great pattern that is perfect for the Sapphire Sea Silk Collection:

Don't you just want to lay on a hammock in the caribbean with this lovely silk throw draped over you?  Me too!!!

Brewer Quilting and Sewing certainly know how to spoil a quilter don't they?  They certainly know how to spoil IHAN blog readers that is for sure!!!

If you have not sewn with silk before you may find Shannon Gifford's article interesting.  Shannon  calls silk dupioni "the queen of fabrics" and has lots of great information in her Sewing Guides at Emma One Sock - Sewing Guides by Shannon Gifford.

Who wants to win this incredible box of Sapphire Sea Dupioni Silk?  Ouch....not so loud...everyone at once....that just hurt my ears and woke my co-workers up.   Yikes, I guess I get what I ask for ay?  Well, if you really, really, really want this box of silk....you need to leave us a comment Thanking Brewer Quilting and Sewing for being so generous AND tell us what you would do to win the Sapphire Sea Silk Collection

Smiles,
Kelly

  1. Do I get to be first? We will see.

Thanks Thanks A BIG OLD THANKS to Brewer Quilting and Sewing for such a delightful prize.

What would I do? I would sing a beach song and record it- then put it on youtube so you can post it here. I would make something totally lovely - because how could I do otherwise with this silk - and blog how wonderful it is to sew with Dupioni Silk -- and you can get it at Brewer Quilting and Sewing

  2. A great big thank you from the great white north to Brewer Quilting and Sewing for such a wonderful prize that just sings of tropical breezes.

What would I do with this amazing prize. I'm going to be going on vacation to Hawaii in May and I have always wanted to create a quilt that captures the beauty of Hawaii so I'm planing on taking lots of pictures. When I get home I'm going to design my Hawaii quilt and this silk fabric would just put this quilt over the top.

  3. Thank you, Brewer Quilting and Sewing. I have admired jackets people have quilted using silk, so I think I would attempt that and would then wear my jacket proudly and post photos of it on my blog along with a big message of THANKS there to Brewer and to you, Kelly.....for this great prize as part of your 30-day giveaway!

  4. Oh my gosh- I WANT THIS!!! I think if I won it, I'd try to work pieces of it (and its fabulous sheen) into my bags & quilts made with military uniforms. I think the drab + shiny would look pretty cool together.

  8. A big thank you to Brewer Quilting and Sewing! I was just looking at these at my LQS yesterday!
I would drool over these for a little while, they are almost too pretty to take out of the box and then finally I would use them to make a very special quilt!

  9. Thanks goes to Brewer Quilting and Sewing for being so generous. I want to win this incredible box of Sapphire Sea Dupioni Silk! I really, really, really want this box of Brewer silk.... The colors are my mother's favorites and she wants to make a crazy quilt.
I have a silly song and dance routine that I would perform to win the Sapphire Sea Silk Collection. I wrote the song myself. All who experience my act laugh out loud and beg me to stop. Oh well, it does bring smiles. mlwright29 {at} hotmail {dot} com

  14. How wonderfully generous of Brewer Quilting and Sewing to make such a fabulous donation. Thanks to them and to you. I'm drooling over the hues and the textures of these beautiful silk fabrics that would add sheen and richness to my art quilts.

  15. Wow! I can't believe how generous Brewer Quilting and Sewing is to make this prize available! Thank you, BQS! I really, really want this. What would I do to win it? Well, inspired by the color scheme, I might say that I would swim across the Gulf of Mexico to win it. But that would be a stretch. I'm not a good swimmer. But I could write a story about swimming across the Gulf of Mexico.

  16. Just realized you asked me to tell you WHAT I would do to win them, not what would I do IF I won them... Sorry - I guess to win them, I'd read the instructions better, then submit my comment - and I'd even send you a picture of what I make with these gorgeous silks (if I win) generously donated by Brewer Quilting and Sewing. Thank you!

  18. PLEEEAASSEEE don't let this be an April Fools, because just the thought of so much blue-beauty makes me fluttery.

Thank you Brewer Quilting and Sewing. You know how to make quilters happy.

It is exciting to contemplate making something that isn't cotton. I have thought about re-doing my bedroom to blue (red and gold is getting old) and this would make a terrific throw. Mmmmm--how nice silk would feel for an afternoon nap!

To win it I would donate a quilted jacket pattern I have created. It isn't great or fancy, but someone might like it and I would be giving back. I offer this because someone above mentioned a jacket and that would be my second choice of what to make with this. I love blue!

  19. A super big thanks to Brewer Quilting and Sewing. This is a fabulous item.

What would I do "to" win this? How about 20 minutes of hula hooping????? Then I wouldn't feel guilty for sitting hours while I sew with it. ;)

  20. OK, forget my other entries. THIS is what I really, really want. *L*

    ReplyDelete
  28. How would I thank thee? Let me count the ways -
    1) I would stand on my head (although I'd probably pass out)
    2) I would jump on my bed (but the legs would give out)
    3) I would paint my face red (it would be hard to wash out) and
    4) I would say what they ^ said

  71. Hi and greetings from Western Australia. Thank you so much to Brewer Quilting and Sewing for being so generous and giving us the opportunity to win the Sapphire Sea Silk Collection. I suppose it is not a big deal for them, but for us quilters this is a really, really big deal. I'd be willing to pay the postage to Australia - is that enough to win? I love the look of silk and dream of making a quilt from some. Thanks also to you, Kelly, for all your hard work doing this; I gather you are having some fun and getting quite a buzz from this, but there is still a lot of work. So, thanks, we really appreciate it. Sam (Sandra) s.downes@murdoch.edu.au
