Day Six of Giveaways

Just Another Button Company Pins and an Andover Tote Bag are the prizes you could win today! I just love these pins. Cecile from Just Another Button Company gave me this pins. She is so very generous and kind. I want to be selfish and keep them for myself....but what fun would that be. I have to share them because they are so pretty.
The Andover Fabric Company gave out these really fun tote bags at Quilt Market. I'm only sorry the picture shows mostly the pins. I guess because I wanted the details of the pins to show up. Don't you know I uploaded the pictures while at home and now I'm on the road and can't re-take the pix. So, Andover folks.....your bag is beautiful and I thank you for giving it to me....and now I'm giving it to a lucky blogifer!!
To have an opportunity to win today.....leave a comment telling us all who you plan on leaving your sewing machine to when you transcend this existence!!! Be honest.....who do you want to get your little baby once you are talking to the clouds.
Make sure you read the post entitled: "Giveaway Rules" so you know how the gifts will be given away.

Kelly

  1. I have already told my boys and husband that my sewing machine goes to my niece Toni, she is a lovely young lady and I really do think she should have been my daughter....she is alot of fun and I love her dearly.

  2. when I leave this place my machine will go to darling grandaughter Lily (she turned 1 last month). Her mumma Kate my eldest already has her own machine and stash and an industrial design degree, for all her crafty ideas to come to fulfillment. So I see the future being bright for Lily to continue in her grandmas and mummas footsteps in stitching and sewing and making allsorts of stuff.

  6. Great looking buttons! I have 3 machines. I only have sons who aren't interested in sewing. If today was my day, I'd want my family to have a quilter's estate sale so that my quilting buddies could have first dibs on my machines and fabric.

Thanks for the chance to win! This give-away has been fun. Hope you are enjoying your trip away from home.

  7. I will leave my machines to my granddaughters. Right now I have 3 machines and 4 granddaughters, so I guess I will have to buy a new machine at some point before I die!

  8. I hadn't thought about it but I guess I want my machine to go to my daughter, if she wants it.

  9. Oh my daughter of course. She may hate me sitting at my machine all day, But it is rubbing off on her, as my mother, and father for that matter
(does uphlolstry) did to me... ;-)

  10. I'm hoping it will be quite a few years before I leave this world. I'm under 30! If I left now, I'd hope my hubby would give it to my friend Jenn who's just starting to quilt and could use a nicer machine. Hoping it's a long time from now, I'd like to have a little girl to give it to.

  12. That's a tough one. None of my 3 girls or 2DILs are into sewing much. I can't even bear to think what is to become of my stash....I know the DILs with pitch everything! That said, I think I'll leave the machine to my youngest. SHe is the most artsy of any of them, and it may come in time that she'll like quilt making as she ages....I can only hope. She sped like an out of control demon making over 150 tissue holders with my FQs to sell at a craft fair...she sold 6 there! :( Poor thing was very discouraged. But she took them to school and sold oodles to her teachers...she still has oodles left....

  13. Such a cute give-away and sew much fun.

For years, I've let my husband and sewing friends know that when I pass on my friend Marilynn gets my sewing machine (and anything she wants in my sewing room).

This may sound like a bizarre topic, but it really is a good one to think thru. I've seen too many situations where a family tosses sewing room items, as there had been no mention to the family as to what to do with them in the event of a passing.

  14. I don't have a sewing machine, I just use my mom's. I hope that she'll buy me one of my own and stick around for a long long time and not have to leave me her machine for years :-)

  15. I've thought about this numerous times but have never gotten serious about who would get my two babies. I think my oldest daughter who sews just a little would get my Viking. My youngest doesn't sew at all (boohoo!). I think my Bernina would go to my sister-in-law. She's an avid quilter & I believe she would enjoy my Bernina as much as I have.

  16. My sister and I have a pact. Whoever goes first, the other will take care of her things. This was made years ago when we were at an auction. In one of the box lots were a bunch of old bras. I called her over and we made the pact on the spot! LOL
Truly, she has been my sewing buddy since we took our sewing lessons when we were 11 and 12 years old. But my real hope is that my Granddaughter will become a 'sewist' and she will have it all! (She is only 3 so time will tell!)

  18. Probably my youngest daughter who is now 6 will get my Bernina. She's the one who helps me quilt the most and seems most interested. My 221 will go to my oldest daughter who is now 12...I think I bought it for her anyway!

  19. I have three machines, one that was my mothers a singer that is more than 40 yrs old and still works, I also have my first Elna and a newish Bernina. I have a extended family of three boys and three girls but only three of them show any interest in sewing. So here goes onbe will go to my eldest son who sews his own clothes when he has the time, one will go to my youngest daughter and the third machine will probably go to my youngest stepson or revolve around who ever needs it at the time. I love the buttons

  20. Oh I would give my Bernina baby to my dear sweet daughter. She has been sewing on my old Kenmore, but she would inherit the 155 :-)

  21. Since I am hoping my only daughter will somehow come to love sewing and quilting as much as I do, I will want her to have my sewing machine. I haven't been too successful so far, but maybe once she lives closer to me, I will be able to help her have a positive experience.

  22. As of right now, mine will probably go to Goodwill. I don't have any kids, and no one else in my family sews. But as I am still young, hopefully that will change before the time comes. I would love to have a daughter to pass it along to.

  24. Hi again, I got my machine as a present from my mum. with 2 non-sewing sons, and of course if my going preceeds hers, it'll go back to her... otherwise..I have no idea! can only think it would be either sold or left to remember me by or go to one of my quilting friends.
