Abbey Lane Quilts - Houston Quilt Market 2010

I may have a neuron firing now....at least I think I have one...LOL.  I have to say I loved every comment I received on the subject.  I know I'm not alone and I must say I have felt very connected to those who leave comments.  What a joy to have such great support.

You would be shocked to see how many books and other fun things I have here next to my desk to give away.....so I'm getting on with it.

Do you recognize these faces?  The gals from Abbey Lane Quilts,  Janice Liljenquist and Marcea Owen.  You may recall this post when I introduced their first book, Blooming Possibilities.  They have another book out and this time they autographed one for me to give away to one very lucky IHAN blog reader.

This is Janice at Market holding a copy of their new book,  Fab Five; Fun, Fast & Flirty.   There are 2 patterns in this book of basic quilts.  They have added 5 seasonal appliques that are really fun.  To see these quilts just click here.  I think they are cheerful and the applique patterns in the book are printed on the nice heavy paper pull out from the center of the book.

With the energy I've had lately, anything that says fast and easy is up my alley, how about you?  Please don't ask me about the quadratic formula today....typically I can compute very fast....but not lately.....my get up and go....got up and went...LOL.

If you would like to be the lucky new owner of this autographed copy of Fab Five; Fun Fast & Flirty then leave me a comment on this post.  If you are a zombie too.....you can just admit it and that is good for a comment.  No contortionist activities in January right?  Right!  If you are feeling perky, please leave a perky comment so the rest of us can enjoy the energy boost :)

Smiles,
Kelly

  5. I love the cover of the book, although I admit I love circles... probably cause I spend so much time going around in them... haha

  6. I have not been ill, but I am sick of crabby people, and am irritable. I hate winter, in montana, and snow. I could use a little pick me up, a book might do the trick. I think some wine would help too.

  7. My get up and go is about to get up and go for a walk to try and find itself....

  10. Looks like a very cheery book and I'd love a chance to win it. I am not quite a zombie, but pretty close - just trying to stay warm on the couch snuggled up in quilts.

  11. I'd love to give that book a home! And my brain is starting to shut down for the day, so that's about as perky as it gets! Thanks for the giveaway chance.

  14. It is foggy, gray, gloomy and COLD here. The power companies are making a mint this month. Perky? I need SUN power to perk. The only thing perking in my house is the coffee pot. Maybe a new quilt book would add a little zing? :-)

  15. I love all the bright colors they used - especially on the purple Posey quilt. Those colors perk me up!

  20. Bless your heart for no contortions! Still recovering from pneumonia but energy enough to wave my hand in the air (or wiggle my fingers over the keyboard) to boldly announce "I want to win the book!!" lol Thank you Kelly for this most wonderful giveaway!

  21. I am absolutely not in the zombie group. I think I am more like the energizer bunny this winter. I make quilts like I get paid for it not the other way around, lol.

  22. Well girl, I live in zombie land - my motto is 'onward through the fog'. Although NOT in winter, then it's 'hibernate through the fog'. Do those neurons make a noise when they fire? All is silence here!
That looks like a great book - fast and easy is all I do! Or should I say, all I'm capable of anymore!

    ReplyDelete
  23. What a great book - it would surely help with any lack of mojo, the girls look fantastic in their outfits.

  28. I am ABSOLUTELY loving this book. I clicked on the link to see the ones made up - they scream FUN to me.

The 5F book - love it !!!!!! I'm already seeing one made in shades of browns to hang behind hubby's recliner.

No zombie here - just full of happiness and ready to start my day!!

  32. Perky? Perky? Are you kidding me? Arg. My perk has all been focused on helping to tear down the Swanton Model Train Club Display at the Zoo. Takes a week to put up and we usually get it down in a day and half. Younger son, DD, and I got home at midnight, getting ready to head back today. ZZZZZZzzzzzzZZZZZZZzzzzzzZZZZ.

Then all of our crap from the display has to go back to the basement in some kind of order. But as soon as I get this done, I promised myself I could start the Log Cabin Quilt. But it sure would be easier with that spiffy new cutter you got. Do ya like it?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I need something fun and fast for 2011... and if it has to be flirty..so be it! Thanks Kelly :)

  39. I don't know about perky, but I'm not quite a zombie. I have 4 craft shows coming up, tho, so I'm about to go into overdrive. As soon as I get started, that is!

There are sooooo many possibilities with that quilt, and it looks like they'd be quick to stitch! Always a plus, in my book!

Glad you're getting back on track - there's not much that can get you down or keep you there! :)

  40. Such cute quilts! I love the Stars and Stripes one. Thanks for the opportunity to win!=)

  41. Am a little perky right this minute as just came home from the gym....and it is true, exercise energizes. Don't ask me how perky I am tonight, though.

I'm cold, but not as cold as all the ones having to hibernate away from the snow.

    Nothing wrong with zombies...

  42. Oh I would love to win that book. Thanks for a great giveaway. For osme reason, I have had a burst of energy. I have had the urge to organize and clean out. (so very strange for me, Just ask my husband...no, don't) Anyway, I am going with it. It might not last.

  49. Glad you have a neuron firing up. I've always felt you have more neurons moving around than I've ever had, so this may be evidence I'm operating on negative neurons. LOL!

Lovely book and looks like some really fun designs. I didn't catch a deadline, but let me know if you want me to post about it on my page where I share insights on contests & giveaways.

I've got to snap out of it...I hate this lack of energy and trying find my way out of this fog I'm always in... next to no sewing is getting done, no cleaning ...I just go in circles all day. I think I'm going to have to get some help with my sleep issue. I think the brain cells are firing at night when I should be sleeping and are sleeping during the day when they should be firing. Life s..ks after menopause!! I'll have to get MamaSparks over for a play date... that just might help....but I have to clean first!!

    ReplyDelete

  67. My 2011 started with a sprained ankle, followed by a sinus infection, followed by everyone in the house getting the stomach flu. There is not one bit of get up and go or perky here right now. The only thought that gets me out of bed is that sooner or later, this all has to end! The pattern is just adorable, and thank you so much for offering it as a prize.
Hope there is more zip at your house now!
