Patsy Thompson Designs

Welcome to the month long "I Have A Notion" Anniversary Celebration!!!  Let the party begin........

Come on .....Lets Shake our Tail Feathers!!!!   Who better to shake our feathers with than Patsy Thompson of Patsy Thompson Designs, right?

(Hi Patsy:)

Have you ever wanted to learn or improve your machine quilting?  Let Patsy show you how she creates beautiful award winning quilts with her DVD's.  She has graciously offered the following three sets of DVD's for the IHAN Anniversary Month Long Giveaway!!!

We all know it takes practice, practice, practice.....however if you are anything like me I could practice until the cows come home and make little progress.  But with some instruction from a talented instructor...I can make progress much faster.  (Don't believe me?  Just ask Mary Jane!!)
Isn't this absolutely beautiful?
Wow....now that is a "tail feather" LOL
This is a lovely use of fun threads and you could learn from an expert how she makes these gorgeous designs.

It might be difficult to see the quilting in this photo but if you click here you will see it beautifully.

New this Spring, Patsy has a  2 disk set coming out based on feathered border designs and a Feathers book.  So we have more fun to look forward to :)

Patsy offers free (we love free) downloads and a Power Quilter Certificate!!  She also has a lovely on-line shop to purchase more of her DVD's and recommended notions.

Speaking of notions, Patsy honestly has the very best video on her site about the Bendable Bright Light.  She makes taping a video look so easy.....trust me....it is not.  I drop things....my voice sounds funny....her video ROCKS and it shows you exactly what I've been saying about it.....I don't think there is a stitcher alive that would not love a Bendable Bright Light. (if you find one....you've moved a grave stone and that is against the law!!!)

On to the Giveaway.....you can win the above DVD's by leaving a comment on this post about why you would like to have one of Patsy's Free Motion Feather's DVD's.

Want more entries?  Click here to find out how you can get lots more entries for each of the days between today and April 15th when the Giveaways end.

There will be three winners, one for each of Patsy's DVD's and the winners will be announced on April 16th, 2010.  This will give everyone plenty of time to read through the post/posts and be thoughtful about their replies.
Tail Feather Smiles,
Kelly

FYI-All of the posts for the coming month have been written by Kelly Jackson.  They are all my own words and thoughts.  Having this giveaway is my way of saying Thank You to all of you and the wonderful people who so generously donated these items.  How better to celebrate?  I get to tell all of you about wonderful products and you have a chance to win some really incredible things!!!  Now that is what I call a Party!!!
(a special note to all my friends out there....if you see I've made a mistake....let me know, thanks :)

  2. I am just too excited at the prospect of seeing these DVD's! I first saw them on your sidebars & was in love with the quilting instantly. I love doing free motion, but I am still intimidated by some of the more intricate designs (LIKE FEATHERS!).

Have a great anniversary party! Here's a glass of champagne from me

    Congrats on a year..that's awesome.

  19. I received my Bendable Bright Light a couple of weeks ago (from you, of course) and I'm amazed at how bright it is! When I turn it off, it looks like I'm quilting by candlelight, by comparison! I've been a big fan of Patsy's for quite a while now, and I'd love to win one of her DVD's. She's such a great role model! Thanks for the chance!

  61. I would love to win one of these DVD's as I have not quilted in a long time (working full time and raising children seemed to cut into my free time!) and during my time-out, I've developed arthritis in my fingers. I hand-quilted before but am thinking that machine quilting sounds much more appealing now. Thank you for the chance to win!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I have been watching Patsy's tutorials on the Quilt Show and I think she is wonderful. I have been thinking about purchasing one of her DVDs for awhile, so winning one would be fantastic.

    ReplyDelete
  66. The only quilting I know how to do successfully is in the ditch and tying. I know, I know, tying does not a true quilt make, or so I've heard.
I would appreciate these dvd's because they would demonstrate the quilting method and I could replay what I didn't understand. Since I am a visual/show-me learner these would really help me.
I would like to n\move beyond in the ditch quilting and add some art and pizazz to my creations. Thanks for sponsoring this giveaway.

  83. Hi and greetings from Western Australia. I am the most hopeless person at any freehand quilting. I went to a whole week-end workshop on it and still have no idea. I think this DVD would be wonderful; then I would not be envious of all those people who quilt so well - you do want to stop me sinning? :) Thanks so much for making this possible. Sam (Sandra)

  88. Being a new quilter I can use all the help I can get. I have tried to do some free motion quilting and it looks like someone took a spool of thread and threw it on the quilt with glue to hold it down. It was not very nice at all. pamspinks.blogspot.com

  90. What machine quilter wouldn't want them??? I just tried to fmq a feathered wreath and it turned out awful. I can't figure out how to go backwards over the previous stitching in a nice even line to start the next feather. Actually watching someone else do it may be a major help. Plus her designs look AH-MAY-ZING. Emphasis on the ZING. I would love to be able to put some of that into my quilting!!

I have SO many quilt tops just sitting there waiting for me to quilt them, but I don't have the skill to do it (or the money to send them out). She has a very easy teaching style and I'm sure I could learn a lot. I really want to learn how to do feathers as I always think they're so gorgeous on quilts!

  108. Being an often isolated quilter, in a country not known for quilting it is very difficult to have opportunities to learn for experts. 114. I have seen the free videos that Patty shares and am so amazed at her work! Would love to see these DVDs and gain confidence to try my hand at feathers...it's confidence most of us lack, well besides the practicing....:) Pick me!!!

  115. After attending a Ricky Tims seminar and seeing what beautiful things feathers can be, done with a domestic sewing machine, I am all for new techniques and instruction. So far I have stuck to basic stippling, outlining and wavy lines, but it is time to spread my wings!

  116. Always wanted to know how to do this! I'll keep this on my wishlist in case I do not win!

  117. I am always amazed that someone can control machine quilting enough to make such beautiful designs. I am in desperate need of help in learning, apparently reading books is not getting it. I do practice, maybe I need to be told a different way to try. I'd spend less time picking up broken needles I'm sure!!
